Actually, I noticed earlier that you were only starting 4 OF and was just about to insert Victorino into your lineup on your behalf.

Well that last minute decision to switch out Hudson for Slowey was certainly a good call.

 

Still think Slowey is one of the all-time best baseball pitcher names. Reminds me of the old Bugs Bunny changeup.

 

Entering the final game period:

Expos: 223 + 182 + 226 = 631 (5 SP games left)
Aliens: 200 + 204 + 176 = 580 (4 SP games left)

 

With the 102 - 20 score on Friday, I've erased the deficit and have pulled a narrow 31 point lead, 682-651. So it comes down to this weekend. I need to survive a Saturday where 3 of your guys are going and only one of mine.

 

Doesn't help that Bucholz got scratched.

 

Yeah, I hate young pitching for that reason. They tend to get rested or worn out by the end of the season, when you need them most. Had that problem with Gallardo last year. Give me an older pitcher who's gone 200 innings before, any day.

 

Final results:

Expos: 223 + 182 + 226 + 188 = 819
Aliens: 200 + 204 + 176 + 206 = 786

Expos come out on top by a slim margin of only 33 points. I think I got a few gray hairs keeping up with this series.

Congrats, fade. Nice work running the league all year. My hitting let me down in the series, for sure. Beyond that, I just didn't pick the right SP and left too many points there on the bench.

Oh well, I've racked up the dubious triple crown this year - have lost in the finals in consecutive football, basketball, and baseball now, after winning my first 4 championship games. There's always next year!
