First of all don't pull that who's really a Rox fan bs! If you were a real Rox fan you would be incensed that the team would hire any Knickerbocher for this team. It's equivalent to bringing in any Utah Spazz player into the organization. (although AK is more than welcome). I don't like JVG. I never liked JVG. Look at the historical data and see for yourself that this guy is CLUELESS on how to run an offense. Look at last year. LOOK AT HIS KNICK TEAMS! Yao is gonna wind up with the Lakers in a couple of years only because JVG is holding him back. I would never say trade Yao anyhow because he drives in the REVENUE....AND REVENUE IS GOOD! I don't expect us to go 82-0 but I do expect this team to beat the teams they are supposed to beat. TMAC will miss some games this season for chronic back who steps up now? How many losses will we endure then? Stop making excuses about chemistry and win now.

He had one year, now a second. I didn't call for his head then, and I'm not calling for it now (unless Jackson wants the job). If wanting the better guy NOW, when he is available, is "not giving JVG the benefit of the doubt," then so be it.

The most likable guy to ever step foot in the Rox organization...By far the most succesful also...HELL YEAH! There was no reason not to keep him on as Head Coach and just grant him medical leave. But honestly there were plenty of other choices out there and JVG was and is not the best fit for this team.

Ok we get your point, but JVG isnt going anywhere. CD doesnt have a ClutchCity account from what I know, so please spare us your fire JVG tirades. EMail them to CD if you want to. We're trying to root for our Rockets, not listen to your whining about a situation which NONE of us here has control over.

It's early in the season and it will take time to build chemistry and establish Yao as the primary focus of the offense. Charlie Ward should NEVER take more shots than YAO:mad: Give it time and it will work out.

You know what is funny to me, it's 90% of you people who busted a nut when the trade went down and automatically assumed the Rockets would be in the NBA Finals and now that it's now going so well you go to the no one goes 82-0 card. I wasn't a big fan of the trade as I believed we were just a solid rebounding/defending Power Forward and solid backup Point Guard away from being a contender but the Organization made the deal so we have to rebuild again and wait 2 more years before we are serious contenders so it's all good. It is OK to be critical but I do agree with you that it is not the end of the world going 0-2 but we can't afford to fall in too deep a hole early on especially in our division. In the end we will be allright and hopefully make it to the second round.

While I agree that PJ would be an interesting choice to lead the Rox, I simply don't see it happening unless JVG screws the pooch BAD this year.

Might I remind you that JVG took an 8th seed to the Finals despite being sorely outmatched in every round AND after losing his key center to injury during the playoffs. JVG is a very good coach and IMO, defense wins more championships than offense, as evidenced by Detroit's triumph over LA (and Phil Jackson may I remind you) in the '04 Finals. PJ is an extremely talented offensive coach, but I just don't see replacing JVG unless we do REALLY badly this year.

Besides, if PJ holds to form, he won't coach at all this year and will not even consider opportunities until about the time that JVGs contract is up. THAT is the time to think about a replacement, not now.

Yep, "screws the pooch BAD" to the tune of not winning more than 51 games, and not getting deep in the second round of the playoffs. :)

I would be happy if they found a way to get a championship-caliber coach like Jackson RIGHT NOW, but my expectation is that it would be far more likely to happen at the end of this season. In the meantime, JVG remains adequate until he isn't...

-2 games (that we lost last year as well, I might add) can not be considered "not going so well".

-The trade was made to have long-run impacts. Even if the Rockets don't make the Finals this year, most people weren't expecting them to do so. It's understood this team has holes, some more gaping than others, but not everything could be fixed in one offseason. If we don't make the Finals in the next 7 years, that's a different story.

-Your definition of rebuilding is hardly typical. Most teams would love to "rebuild" with a 26 year old 2-time scoring champ. There's a difference between rebuilding and revamping.

Fact: Last year's NBA champs had two separate losing streaks of 4 and 6 games. The Spurs had a four game losing streak.

We're on a 2 game losing streak, one loss of which was to the NBA champs, and the other of which was on the 2nd night of a road back-to-back situation. Clearly, the sky is falling.

We're on a four game losing streak since JVG treated those last two Preseason games as "for real" games. The Rox didn't even look like they wanted to be out there. they were slow and sluggish to their spots, they made lazy passes and the offense had no flow whatsoever. The defense cannot get better without speed and The Rox are seriously lacking. Hope they win tonight so it'll shut me up though. That would be fn sweet.
