Are you trying to claim that an amendment to the US Constitution comes via The Supreme Court or something? I'm pretty sure it is a legislative function...
giddy don't be dense, you know that's not what I mean. And for the life of me I don't understnd why the mods put up with people like gwayneco. I read what he wrote before the edit. He deserves banning.
Hum. One of you liberals has told me to commit suicide and another deliberately misquotes me, yet I should be banned. Priceless.
The very best political post I have read in D&D... America- the United States of America... No longer the Republic it began with No longer holding the values it grew with No longer a government that prospered it No longer a government that serves the individual free citizen We have sunk to uphold the political agendas carefully crafted to guide us to a global community; We fought to have a free national republic; a government under the people and under the individual freedoms of the individual; a national government limited through rule of law by a Constitution. We are losing more each day, sqeezed and pressured by political parties and tightening the noose of a global proliteriat. Wealthy men leverage politics, both democrat and republican- the gap between the wealthiest and the upper middle class must grow, the indoctrination in education trains our children in the mindset of the proliteriat; and the monster must feed itself so it divides itself into two political parties so that you will be divided and rendered a non factor. Oh yes, the politcal parties are polar opposites, extremely different and yet nothing really changes from one administration to the next- more government control over individual lives, more debt owed to bankers, more dependence upon the political system by the people; less civil liberties, freedoms and individual responsibility; more control by Washington in every area of life and all the while we are put to sleep peacably by Xbox, American Idol and our credit cards. Thadeus, your post is why I am the cynical citizen no longer trusting in my Big Brother in Washington. I would rather read the coin and find peace- In God we Trust.
First the retirement package for congress would have to be altered or the government might go bankrupt just paying their retirement.
I'd have to respectfully disagree. But you know, personal experiences are different and all that... Actually, as an addendum; the ones who are hopelessly and blindly devoted to either side are, in my experiences, the ones who are actually 'thinking' less...
I wouldn't be opposed to doing away with this altogether. Maybe have the government contribute to an already existing 401k or something, but the retirement package they get is outrageous.
