haha. This. Facebook & twitter is what I use. My twitter is primarily Rockets related (so I can stalk Rockets players & ramble). I deleted my myspace 2 years ago. What about Xanga? Did anyone else have one of those pre-myspace?
i have both but i only log into myspace once or so every couple of weeks, facebook and clutchfans stay up all day though
I just signed into Myspace. This message popped up: I was typing up a message defending Myspace. Stuff like that will make me join the exodus away from it. But knowing far in advance that Myspace was all about musicians and entertainers and wannabes and posers and sluttiness, this might fit their narcissism mold to see who's "checking you out". Would been good 4 years ago. I actually have all the same contacts on Myspace for the past year with no change. I figured its because everyone completely abandoned Myspace and didnt even care enough to TRY to delete lol. But there's an option that says " Account Cancellation : Cancel Account". I won't do it (yet) to see if it works.
I had a Xanga, but it was for a class I took in college. It was just a bunch of crap on tech news that I had to write. I have both, but I've probably logged on to Myspace twice in the past year. I'm not sure why I keep that thing and I find myself getting bored with Facebook as time goes on.
It seems like every few years a big social media site takes over... Myspace Facebook Has twitter surpassed facebook? I wonder how long it will be untill facebook falls as much as Myspace has.
facebook Im watching twilight -2mins ago Im bored - 4mins ago Vs Myspace Hey ma you look good Can I get your number?
I still don't know anyone with a twitter, that thing seems useless. Everyone has a facebook. I don't see it dying down ever, or at least for a very long time.
have both, but only log into FB, I check my MySpace maybe once every so often to just to check it out I had a LiveJournal back in 2002, stopped posting in 06 and I read that to humor myself on how I was back then I had a Friendster that I signed up for cause it was mostly Asians on there, I closed it because instead of looking up who was on there already with my Gmail account, it flipping sent invites to all on my Gmail contact list, that was quite embarrassing to say the least.... I have a pretty good idea who that 1 person with a MySpace but no Facebook
Anybody still keep active accounts on the MiGente/BlackPlanet/AsianAvenue network? Now that we have facebook, it seems that the ethnic network is dead.
I have a FB profile. I got all excited when it first came out, took all the quizzes, posted every pic on my hard drive, and got up to like 200-something friends. Over the last year, I've slimmed down to about 70 friends, took down 95% of the pics I posted, and only check it once a day - mostly just to laugh about the stupid stuff people post. On Sundays, I'll post a Texan-related status update, but that's about it. I still use it to keep in touch with some old high school and college friends, but I lurk 99% of the time.
Man, I got NO WORK RELATED stuff on there. Only my personal stuff. I try to leave my work place and my personal place separate. The president of the school where I work requested me. I said "NO, thanks" (while I was not at work, of course). 90% of my friends are family/relatives, high school friends or current and former coworkers. Others I've met through work, school, etc. I did, but it was mostly to help a friend's daughter who was in high school with her HTML class.
It's bad for the most part. too much personal info. too easy to abuse or get hooked up/connected with wrong people.
It depends on the person. Socially inept or immature people will not think twice about offering "TMI." Like I replied to the OP, no one puts a gun to your head about posting your personal info. Why would it be "too easy" to get hooked up with the wrong people if you only add friends you know personally, though?
I had both, but I killed my Myspace account about 3 months ago. It just wasn't worth it to me anymore.
