this post is 100% true. WITH or WITHOUT Yao this season...this team is terrible. Not near the level they projected in the pre-season. Just not a good NBA team
It definitely hasn't been a pretty start to the season and we may never bounce back. I'd almost like to see us get a top draft pick and start the franchise off on a new foot. Look what the Spurs were able to do when Robinson sat out for a season. It's too bad that our team was so lovable and a bunch of try-hards last season because we could have ended up with John Wall but that's our team right now, middle of the road, too good to be a top pick and not good enough to contend. I love the Rockets and will never root against them so I'll just see what is our next move. I think we definitely need to trade some of our depth away it's obvious that there aren't enough minutes and chemistry is suffering.
as much as I hate you right now, I couldn't disagree with you, but still you never know, alot of teams start out very bad early in the season and they start turning things around, but from what I've seen lately, ummm, we need a whole maker over.
why cant we be good like the lakers and the lebron james and the celtics and the dwayane wade and the hornets and sech and sech
The constant overreacting here is just ridiculous. The team hasn't played well so far, but let's look at this thread midway through the season, and I'll bet a lot of people have changed their tunes. Not saying the team looks like a contender, but the doomsaying on this board is a bit much.
How many times has the top pick in the draft turned out to be as good as Tim Duncan? The "let's get the top draft pick" strategy is a losing strategy based on a whole lot of wishful thinking.
After the first few games, I knew we were in a heap of trouble. So I've already faced it and know it. I don't know why coaches have such strong allegiances to bad (and declining) players. Adelman does (think Bonzi, now Brad Miller and also Battier and Hayes). Now, we're stuck with a bunch of mediocre or greatly flawed players who probably will be lucky to be at .500 at the end of the season.
pass first pt guard - nope consistent #1 scoring option - Martin? defensive specialist - not anymore defensive anchor - injured, averaging 20 mins, barely moving post threat - see above closer - nope bulldog - nope bench - check This is gonna be a great year for the Rockets
We do now go out and get Andre Igoudala for Kevin Martin. That balances out Brooks inability to play defense at least.
