I'm not talking about throwing in the towel, I just think that changes need to be made. The sad part is that, the changes that would or could be made would just disrupt the team even more. But then again, this team really has no identity.. Argghhh!!

Wow, this post was useful! So, it sounds like you are saying that its time for people to stop be optimistic and start being pessimistic. Yeeeaaahhh, okay. For what? What the heck is the purpose of this post? Just venting frustration? Sorry, I hate post that start off like this. Yeah, we are bad right now...but we can get better. This team is capable of improving, and if not then we try again next year. I guaranty you will live to see us be competitive later this year...or the year after that. Be patient and use your common sense, man! Its going to be alright, I promise.
I still think it is waaaay to early to pass judgement on this group of players. There is A LOT of bball to yet be played. Chemistry takes time to build. We have a lot of the same players from the 2nd half of last year but they are going to have different roles this year. Those things take time to figure out. Now you throw in the Yao limits on minutes and now leg injury, Brooks' injury, Lowry not being 100%, and that is going to set us back a little bit. These guys always play hard. Shots will start falling again (Budinger) and guys will figure out how they can add value to the team (Miller, Lee, Hill). I am not saying they will challenge tha Lakers, but I do know they will start showing they are a much better team than the record shows right now. I am not in panick mode like I see most are on this thread. You have a right to say what you want, but I am giving them more time before i pass judgement.
I guess I suck then. Thanks redao, you are a great guy/girl with tons of character. I suck because I am a Rockets fan and I thought they would be contenders. If they end up being contenders at the end of the season, will I still suck? Just curious.
Yeah, shame on us FANS for expecting better out of our team than we've gotten... we should all just complain and be gloomy ALL the time - that way we can be right whenever we don't win the championship! Cause being right is cooler than enjoying the season.... right??
Don't have the time to wait till late in the year, it takes 50+ wins to get in and were not heading in the right direction. While I agree I think it will get better, my problem is the effort and heart that were not seeing especially late in games. This is pro sports, if this continues this current Rockets team will be completely different come next season.
At this rate no were not. And let's say we do get on a run and sneak in, with this current team we can't win a series and I'm not being pessimistic just being a realist.
No, but being more realistic would be nice. While I don't think the Rockets necessarily suck, I never thought they were going to be pushing the Lakers to the limit in the WCF like so many did. This teams needs a major makeover. Yao looks like he's done. Some of these assets should be traded for a player like Iggy who is a good two way player, essentially a poor man's version of LBJ, and would bring toughness to this team. He can help the team change its identity. The Rockets need to get rid of Miller and bring in some athletic bigs with some upside like Whiteside and Hollins and then hope to acquire a star via the lottery or through a trade with the team taking on a bad contract. I just don't see the point in trying to make the playoffs and ending up falling short of the post season, but finishing with a record that's good enough to guarantee a low lottery pick and drafting a PP type of player again. Morey's $Ball looks like it's risk averse, but you gotta take some chances and gamble in order to hit it big. I haven't seen that so far. Optimist is okay as long as it's tempered with regular doses of reality.
