i like his toughness and aggressive attitude. he's a less talented scola, so obviously we need to work on him not trying to flop all the time and draw too much attention. but i remember seein him play a few times in charlotte, bring him in for sure
Because Detroit has one of the most solidified rotations in the entire NBA, including a guy who starts in front of him at SF who has never missed a game due to injury in his whole career. The bottom line is that his lack of playing time is circumstantial, but when he gets minutes he produces at a very efficient rate. There is no denying that.
I still don't see any posts of 5-man floor lineups from 82games.com of other teams. I'm talking about real lineups from this last year. Obviously, they wouldn't be the starting lineups. Anyone in favor of signing Hermann should post a real lineup and then post a Rockets bench used lineup from this season and put Hermann in there somewhere. Where would he be? I honestly think 9 out of 10 times, if he is in the lineup, he'd be a PF. I'll start. Dallas common floor units: Kidd, Terry, JHo, Dirk, Damp Kidd, Stack, Jho, Dirk, Damp Terry, Stack JHo, Dirk, Damp Terry, Stack, JHo, Dirk, Bass The future Rockets: Rafer, Mac, Bat, Scola, Yao bench of: Landry, Brooks, Hayes, Deke (or younger Center), new 2/3 guy That leaves out BJax, Francis, Head, Harris, Novak Where does Hermann fit in? Whose minutes does he take, and put him in a 5 man Rockets lineup against the Mavs above and where would he play? I can't come up with any lineup that makes sense for the Rockets that has Hermann playing SF, given the Rockets players above and given the matchups with the most common Mavs lineups. Essentially, if Hermann were on the Rockets next year and if he were the play against the Mavs, it would mean 1) he'd play PF 2) he'd be ahead of Hayes and Harris 3) he'd be cutting into Scola and Landry's time Just my opinion, but Hermann is not coming to the Rockets unless a big shakeup happens at the 4 spot.
Kim's right. Hermann won't be able to fit in as a 3.He is not a true 4 but will cut into Scola and Landry's minutes. His game resembles Donyell Marshall's to some extent IMO.
No he's not. Real NBA teams impose their style on other teams. You can't structure your team according to other teams. Look at Phoenix and Dallas. Hermann can be on the floor with Battier because they can both score at a decent clip from downtown (freeing Yao up) and can defend at their positions better than most. We could definitely use him. It would allow us to package Hayes with someone else as well because Hermann can also take up the role of 3rd PF (emergencies) when needed. It would also free us to deal Novak, Head, and Hayes without worrying about depth. He is like a mix of those 3 guys.
OK I´ll bite. Jazz: Kirilenko and Harpring Lakers: Radmanovic (and Odom next year) Suns: when they go big with Diaw at SF Nuggets: Kleiza (Najera, Spot-duty on Melo) Hornets: Peja Mavs: Any SF not Howard Spurs: Udoka (Finley) Not saying Herrmann should be the first target but he´d still be useful 3/4 that would give Rockets flexibility.
He'll add a person that can finish at the rim right now, which is also one of the things that the rockets are weak at.
I didn't read the whole thread, so I might have missed it, but the initial post says Herrmann is UNrestricted when he is actually a restricted free agent. I don't know how he fits into Detroit's future plans though. They are unhappy with Hayes at the backup SF slot, but I don't know that they view Fabio as a SF (he's played almost exclusively at the 4 spot).
Umm... Have you SEEN that hair? And you have to ask? PFFT. Whatever, dude. I though you were a REAL Rockets fan.
