I'm not sure Barnes comes any cheaper, and I don't think we need another defender before we need another scorer...plus Barnes likes to play recklessly and doesn't shoot nearly as well.

I'd pass on this one. With a healthy Yao coming back I'd rather see Novak get the minutes so he can spot up and do his thing.

I say we save the money and package it along with other players to add a legit 3rd star.

Would be a good pick up for the Rockets. Scola needs an Argentine running mate.

We could call them "Beauty and the Beast" ala the Bash Brothers. You figure out who's who.

seriously, I've always wanted Hermann. I don't get why he can't get good minutes. He's tall, can shoot, rebound. I wouldn't be surprised if he really did lose interest in basketball.

I think he'd be a good addition but I don't know his game well. And we already have a lot of tweener forwards, landry/battier/mike harris/hayes/novak.

2 positions we really need is a tall wing player and a tall C/PF. I don't think Hermann falls under either. he can prolly play some 2 but he wouldn't solve the issue there.

if he's cheap, I'd take a flyer on him. but we're kinda over filled on his type.

I'm a fan of this in that it's very realistic, and he's not gonna get a Kapono/Carroll-type BS contract (but could very well be just as productive as those guys were in a similar role, though he plays bigger)

He's a 6'9" wing player who primarily plays SF but can also play SG or PF if needed. That's not what a tweener is.

Why let Novak "do his thing" when his thing is strictly to shoot, and Hermann has shown the ability to do that just as well AND does just about every other conceivable thing better?

adelman said he wanted a bigger guy backing up behind tmac and battier. the only backup SFs from that list are harris and novak both 3rd option players.

Hernan lacks the lateral foot speed and penetration skills the Rockets are looking for.

Fabio got screwed royally in Detroit. Flip Saunders is an idiot. He's gonna be Flipped out of there this summer. Fabio was on my fantasy team in the 06-07 season as a late season pickup. He did not dissappoint. He filled the stat sheets up with rebounding, 3 pt shooting and scoring. This dude can flat out ball.

I've decided I don't want Barnes. He's probably gonna get $4 mill plus per season and IMO he's just not worth it, doesn't shoot well enough, not efficient enough offensively. The only players from GS I'm interested in are possibly Pietrus and Azubuike. I wouldn't mind Pietrus at like $14 million over 4 years, something like that, but definitely not overpay for him. And I'd really like the chance to get Azubuike back for the minimum for a couple years or so.

He doesn't need awesome lateral foot speed or penetration skills if he's going to shoot 50%+ from the field and 40%+ from 3, which he looks very capable of. That said, I don't think he's that slow to begin with, but I haven't seen him play a whole lot.

Now, I do understand we need those things, but not in every player we acquire this off-season. As I said before, I don't see Hermann as "the" guy we need to put us over the top, but as a piece of the puzzle for a couple of million a year?

    I say "of course".

I don't want Goldilocks within 100 feet of my team unless he cuts is freakin' hair. Period.

For Fabio I would get rid of Head and Novak to get him.

He's an unrestricted free agent who makes half what Novak and Head do, so I doubt Detroit would be a partner to that deal.

Well we would have to use part of our MLE for him cause Landry is gonna take some of it too. I think we are gonna have to dump salary.
