Memphisx, would the Grizzlies match on a 5 (about 30 mil) or 6 (like 37 mil) year deal for Swift. I would at least make Memphis pay as much as possible to keep Swift as their back-up to Gasol, and I like him of the realistic young choices. He looks like he is shooting a little better than Etan and IMO has a touch more upside though I wouldm't mind going for Etan for a little less $ or years.
Oh, I don't think Okur is on a rookie contract at all so it is different than Mobley or Arenas or Manu in which those teams were allowed to match up to like the MLE w/o using their MLE, I think Detriot would have to use their own MLE.
I want Elton Brand. Boozer won't leave Cleveland, so I can dream about having Brand on the team. The Sixers will trade Iverson, we will trade Brand, the Clippers have shown interest in Iverson and, to tell you the truth, he would sell a lot of tickets for them (Sterling being a businessman first and a basketball fan twelfth). That's gonna be my next impossible trade scenario. Steve-Cat-Taylor to Philadelphia, Iverson-Salmons-Thomas to the Clips, Brand-Maggette-Jaric to Houston.
Damn lack of edit. We will trade Steve, I meant to say. Whether we get back such a player would remain to be seen. I think our other max-contract player (Yao will be the other) should be a forward, not a guard.
Another interesting PF possibility... If NYKnicks and Zeke succeed with either KMart or Sheed, that makes Kurt Thomas immenently available. He would be great next to Yao: Tough (dirty?), Mean, Hard-nosed rebounder/defender who can also score inside and out. And you know he is a JVG type of player.
Kurt Thomas is a little old though. I wouldn't give up much for him. 3 years MLE free agent contract would be fine though.
