Uhhh.....Patterson is better than Landry..... And Scola, also, better than Landry.... Sooooo...NOPE! We dont need Landry..... Got mad love for CL, but he served his purpose....gotta move on.
As much as i like both players, Battier is not the lock-down defender he once was, and i'd prefer playing time to go to Morris and Bud. Landry would be redundant with Patterson and Scola on the roster. With Scola, Dontas, Hayes, and Patterson competing for minutes at the 4, I just don't see how bringing Landry back helps us. Plus, i think Pat actually has a bigger upside. If we traded Scola, I'd probably be intersted in bringing Landry back on a value contract. A Landry/Patterson/Hayes power forward rotation would be fun to watch.
Can we bring francis back too? And taylor? Maybe Rafer can come out of retirement? All we have to do is petition the league to extend the roster size to 50 players and we can get them all back!! Seriously, there's no room, and the roster is pretty much filled with guys we need or will need. Lowry/dragic/flynn martin/lee/twill bud/morris/parsons scola/PP/hill Donatas/yao/thabeet That's 15, not counting chuck. Doesn't make any sense to bring them back, especially Landry, who may not get a lot, but won't get a little either.
No since none of them will dramatically improve rox. what's point to get them back unless we have spots that need to be filled. clearly we don't.
The roster is packed as is. We are deep at every position other than the 5. The only way we can make room for some of these guys is via trades for either draft picks or a center. C - ? PF - Scola, Patt, Hill, Hayes, D-Mo SF - Budinger, Morris, TWill, (They have plans for TWill. He's too talented to not play) Parsons SG - KMart, CLee, TWill PG- Lowry, Dragon, Flynn It's already been proven that being 2-3 deep at every position will hurt our team. We have too much talent that is being wasted on the bench. In the beginning of the year, Adelman was scrambling lineups together and I think that hurt our team. No need to add Landry or Battier.
I agree with this, whenever Battier finally retires from being a player he is going to be a great coach
Shane was traded because he was not in our future plans. It only made sense to get something for him while he was still on contract instead of letting him walk in free agency, Shane would have preferred to stay in Houston
I love Landry. But we have no need for him now. Looks like Morris will be a better version of Landry. I'd like to have Battier back just for the locker room presence. But it's a luxury we won't be able to afford.
I really liked both Landry and (especially) Battier, but it is clear that both sides have moved on in each case. Who knows, Landry might be back at some point in his career, but I think Battier's next move will be to either finish his career in Memphis or sign on with a contender (Lakers, Heat).
No to both. If Marcus doesn't do well at the 3,we should go for a better two player instead of a primarily one sided SF in Battier who needs bigs to be truly effective. There is no room for Landry here.
