There was a woman on CNN last night, who was at least a blogger but at most an attractive journalist, saying that she and other passengers found it all kind of funny. She didn't witness the altercation with the passenger, or the sliding escape, just when he got on the PA and flipped his lid

Oh, crap. I didn't read the article properly. I read it as the guy flipped out midflight, took a beer, and jumped out of a moving airplane. That's why I thought he died.
Don't question. He is 100% right (well sometimes his ego has to correct him but that counts). The only hard-on around here is the one he has for himself.
It would have been much better if he did it during the flight, de-pressurized the plane opening the door, and bailed out with a parachute after chugging the beer. screw all of you. get your own damn drinks and peanuts! i'm outta here!

According to the news report that I heard was that by deploying the slide where the plane was he did endanger the ground crews.
Only if he did not follow the protocal and first check to make sure the ground was clear. Jetblue said that this was done..then again they have to say that.
My JetBlue flight from JFK to Hobby Monday night was delayed due to this guy. The announcement they made to us waiting was, get this: "We apologize for the delay. We had some security delays on a previous flight and we are in the process of completing maintenance on the aircraft. We will be boarding shortly." My first thought was, "Security delays? Wonderful." You know, you start thinking about terrorist threats and all that stuff. Our flight was at 8:50 PM EST- apparently, the guy did his cussing-beer theft-chute departure about an hour previous to this. Some guy sitting next to me said, "I think it's actually delayed because someone said a flight attendant cussed out all the passengers and then went down the emergency chute." Honestly, we all thought someone had just made that up. Didn't know about the beer thing- just makes it even more of a better story.
The red zone is for immediate loading and unloading of passengers only. There is no stopping in the white zone. No, the white zone is for loading of passengers and there is no stopping in a RED zone. The red zone has always been for loading and unloading of passengers. There's never stopping in a white zone. Don't you tell me which zone is for loading, and which zone is for stopping!
