Wade Phillips said he withdrew from Bucs job "cause I want to b here and don't want 2 b a distraction."

B effing S if he thought he had a good shot he would have interviewed. I think he figured out he was a long shot.

It's crazy that no one touches Dom capers but wade is sought out. I'm glad the bucs aren't interested and wade. Give him some more time at dc.

Funny you say that, because it just came out that the Raiders are interested in Dom.

Don't be surprised if Wade has a handshake deal for a big raise, immediately after the season is over.

I was just about to post that same thing. It doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility that, given the impact he's had on the team, McNair has decided to give him a HUGE raise in pay to just keep doing what he's already doing. Why move on and endure the stress of being a HC somewhere, when you could stay in a lesser role where you're obviously comfortable AND make similar money.

You hear a big rumor and aren't even going to tell us where you got it from?

Well, for all the talk about Wade not being a good head coach, he still has an 82-61 record and out of the seasons where he coached a full 16 games, he went 7-9 once, 8-8 once, and had 6 winning seasons, making the playoffs in 5 of those.

Meanwhile, Capers has had 1 winning season out of 8 and a 48-80 record.

I'd definitely go after Wade before Capers.

Sorry it was on the radio earlier today. I forget which station cuz I was flipping around but they said that there's mutual interest on both sides.

Personally I think that Wade is do for a big raise after the season to stay here, but you never know.

Folks, if anything EVER gets said "on the radio" that's not speculation, it'll be all over Twitter and news reports within minutes, much less hours. What you heard was radio hosts giving their opinions that there could be mutual interest on both sides. Happens all the time. Plus, if there ever is news related to the Texans, it's not going to be broken by Dylan Gwinn, Matt Thomas or anyone else on the radio. It's going to be from McClain (like it or not), Berman or Bob Allen. Period.

Here's the statement from Wade - he's staying. End of story.
