So we should be allowed to carry guns on airplanes?

I don't know but when you have a situation where you have somebody who is determined to use a boxcutter to fatally wound you or the pilot of a plane you don't have many options.

Dude, are you aware that a single bullet through a window at 33,000 feet altitude and the pressure differences inside/outside can wreak havok that will crash the plane?

They do make bullets that can avoid penetrating the skin of an airplane. That's only a legit concern with conventional ammunitition. I think that the pilots should be armed, the cockpit door should be like a watertight door on a ship and a skymarshal should be on every flight armed with as much as he can carry.

In that case, IMO, you have very little room to criticize him. If you won't even watch an entire movie, then your vague rantings mean nothing.

If you really think he represents the "mainstream left" then you are further out to lunch than I have previously thought. Many of the liberals on this board have said things like "I take everything Moore says with a grain of salt."

So keep making your ignorant statements, bama. Keep showing the true colors of the American right. In that respect, you're doing this board a service.

Of course, that web site is full of misleading lies also. The rebuttal website was posted in the last Moore thread, but it wouldn't matter if I posted it anyway. You aren't interested in the truth, just what fits your twisted worldview.

Not only insane, but apparently a vote for Kerry is a vote for the terrorists.

Ooooooohhhhhhhh!!!!! That really hurts, Andylib. Such venom flowing from you is so typical.

Notice you said "many." If you don't think he represents the typical worldview of the left in this country, look at Howard Dean and his popularity. Look at Gore's moronic, lunatic speech to the moveon.org America-haters. Tell me again if he's fringe! That is not the fringe, but the mainstream. And it is hilarious.

Twisted? I'm not the one who said that the debunk site was full of lies without relating a single one. You're a liberal, Andy and your fierce defense for that fat, disgusting, socialist pig proves it.

Moore Stayed Quiet About Prisoner Footage
    Jun 14, 3:27 PM (ET)

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Filmmaker Michael Moore had footage of prisoner abuse in Iraq long before the atrocities captured international attention, but decided to stay quiet until his new movie came out. Now he's questioning that decision.

"I had it months before the story broke on '60 Minutes,' and I really struggled with what to do with it," Moore told the San Francisco Chronicle. "I wanted to come out with it sooner, but I thought I'd be accused of just putting this out for publicity for my movie. That prevented me from making maybe the right decision."

Moore captured the footage for his documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11," which debuts in theaters nationwide June 25. It shows an American soldier fondling a prisoner's genitals through a blanket. Soldiers also laugh and pose for photos while putting hoods over Iraqi detainees.

"The stuff with the detainees in my movie is even more shocking than what we saw in that prison because it happens outdoors and is more commonplace," Moore said.

"Fahrenheit 9/11" won the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival in May. It is critical of President Bush's response to the Sept. 11 attacks and ties him to Osama bin Laden's family.

The film created controversy, and intense interest, when Disney Chairman Michael Eisner said he wouldn't let the film be distributed. Lions Gate Films, IFC Films and the Fellowship Adventure Group are now handling its distribution. It will be in 700 theaters, the largest opening for a Moore film.

Still not sure if I'll see the movie or not, but it does have one badass trailer.

So Moore could have possibly prevented more beatings by coming out with it, but decided his movie was more important?

    I'm not shocked.

    No.

The army was investigating by January, not that far from the time when the Red Cross reports came out (dismissed by most). In fact, if Moore got the same story that CBS did, the story he got resulted from the investigation itself. What precisely, would Moore have prevented? The only thing that Moore would have done would be to expose the war criminals to the world a few months earlier (even though the Red Cross had already complained publicy about the torture).

Faos distorting/ignoring the obvious in order to bash?

    I'm not shocked.

Faos, very honest question here. Try to give an honest answer.

If *Michael Moore* would have broken the story on the abuse scandal when his movie was due to come out, what would you have posted? Would you have given him credit as a fine American for bringing forth difficult news because it was the right thing to do?

In any event, I see zero evidence in this revelation that Moore thought his movie was "more important" than the abuse. Zero. What I see is ample evidence that anyone who, at any time, dares to critique this war gets shouted down and insulted. Moore was all too conscious of that, sadly.

I guess we'll never know since that didn't happen. That's the best answer I can give you.

Regardless of what you think of the movie itself, the poster for the movie is one of the funniest damn things I've seen in a long long time!

I specifically said that the debunk site was covered in the last Moore thread (which you also completely ignored) and went on to say that it wouldn't really matter if I DID post it because you would (surprise, surprise) ignore it.

Go ahead and call me a liberal if it makes you feel better about your venomous, vitriolic, hate-filled rantings. I suspect that anyone left of Limbaugh is a "liberal" to you, which clearly shows your mindless raving for exactly what it is.

The real facts are evident, YOU are the one denying them.
