I don't really even try. I don't buy much packaged food, and I just assumed that no one would offer coupons for fresh produce and meat and such. Am I wrong?

I use my AMEX card for almost every purchase. When the charge shows up on my AMEX account, I simply pay it off with a ank transfer. I get rewards points and can use them to buy things, get gift cards or transfer to Delta miles.

Oftentimes there will be meat coupons either for fresh meat, deli types or pacakged meats (e.g. sausage)

Man, Swoly may have a field day with this post.

I don't think I've ever seen one for fresh produce, but I get Kroger coupons for meat fairly regularly.

Yeah, same principle. I just like DC since it's straight cash. Rewards points are a bit more restrictive IMO. When I'm older and have more time to travel I'll probably switch to whatever card gives me the best points for airfare/hotels.

We just used a bunch of miles for our trip to Africa next year to get one of our tickets which includes a business class leg to Paris.

Good stuff. Thanks! I'll have to at least start looking at the sale ads when they come in the mail.

We got the trip via an auction at the Minnesota Zoo fundraiser. We go on 2 safaris and our travel to and from the safari camps is covered, but we had to provide our own transportation to get to and from Africa. A donor added some miles of hers so we got both of our tickets at no cost.

We added additional travel to Kruger National park (using RCI points for a one week stay) near Johannesburg as well as a crater (I think it's the world's largest and was formed when a volcano fell into itself). We will also visit the Lighthouse For Christ charitable hospital in Mombassa. We will miss out on Cape Town due to the length of the stay.

Due to the small planes we will be on when flying to the safari camps, we are limited to 33 pounds of luggage each (including carry-ons).

I had some of the same thoughts on some of those showcased in the show. Like I mentioned about the cake mixes some woman bought so much she could bake a cake for her children's birthdays for the next 15 years. I mean really? That made me think some people buy it just to buy or because they could not that they would really use or need it.

You realize that there's more than one checkout line at grocery stores right? Most people aren't dumb enough to stand behind someone with 3 carts full of groceries.

I've seen the show numerous times and it's just an adventure for them.

They buy because of the deal, not for the necessity.

The think about this show that I don't like is that 99% of the stuff they buy is garbage, boxed processed items. I haven't seen anyone get any healthy fruits, vegetables, or meat from these coupons.

I do this a lot ...maybe not clipping multiple coupons and all but will end up getting things for a lot cheaper than they retail but they are for things that I want or could use. My best recent buy is getting the extended edition blu-rays of the LOTR movies (pre-ordered of course) for $25 dollars and getting a Onkyo receiver that retails for $550 for 275 brand new.

I agree in that buying something just for the sake of getting it at a discount is not smart spending. One of my best friends also is the same type of person to always get deals etc but he tends to buy stuff he may not need just because its a deal. He has more unopened PS3 games and blu-rays than opened ones. I've told him like whats the point of buying something if you arent going to watch or play it and he just says but it only cost me 15 dollars when normally its 80. I wanted to make copies of some of the disney dvds he had (from blu-ray combo packs) but they werent opened and he didnt want to open them. to me thats more of a waste of money than saving money.

There's a big difference between using a coupon here and there for a couple things (I've done it too) compared to what the people in this video are doing.

This is disgusting behavior. 9 Carts? Moving truck? Are they opening up their own grocery store or just being greedy hoarders?
