Question for TroyBaros. Troy, from your posts I am to assume that you know Francis. Let me ask you this...Just over a month ago Francis was quoted as saying he was going to sign a contract extension with the Rockets this summer for the max. He was very excited about this. This was before the Rocekts won the lottery. Now, do you believe that because the Rockets won the lottery and are very likely to choose Ming (a player that Francis knows little about at this time, and thus is not high on him), that Francis would then "hold off" on signing an extension until he is a free agent next summer (2003)? In other words, is the drafting of Ming THAT troublesome to him that he would NOT sign a contract extension this summer as he said he would do? Chris

Never mind, the entire line was cut off. It didn't have the part where he asked "how will it help my game". God that's selfish. Oh boy. This could get ugly. I'm starting to get open to trades.
Jeff, good points! I have said this many times over many threads...Steve doesn't know anything about Yao. And that's OK! No problem. He is a mystery to many. But with that said, guys like Rudy and CD who have extensively scouted him and know a lot about him...those are people Steve should trust. So, Steve shouldn't make any snap judgements about Yao until he knows more about him, plays with him, practices with him etc. Steve should have said something like: "I admittedly don't know much about Yao Ming but Rudy, CD and the Rockets are very high on him so I am sure he will help out this team a lot. Between the team getting healthy and our draft picks we should make a serious run at the playoffs this season." etc There is nothing wrong with admitting that you don't know much about someone. who cares what steve says now, what happens happens for at least one year, we can't change that, steve can't change that and if Ming is as good as everyone says he is Francis will play with him, the problem is, the quote "I've never played with anyone like that before" just means he hasn'tplayed with anyone like that before.... second of all this NWO guy sould stick to his pre ordained storylines so that he doesn't have to worry about the "smack" francis is talking, to be honest I just wish they couldn't hook up satellites to trailers... I think Jerry West got to Steve. Afterall, they were shown talking during the lottery and I hear West has been in contact with Steve very much and West's view of Ming may be transfering to Steve.
Right now Jeff Steve Francis is the most important player on this team right now. if anyone remembers when he went down with injury we lost how many in a row? We keep Steve happy or we are back to square one, rebuilding. I think Steve speaks for half the team on the opinion of Yao Ming. It is wrong to blame Francis for his attitude toward this the guy wants to WIN now not 3 years from now and as I said before standing right next to him when he made the statement about not wanting Ming. I think what he said that day doing his interview when the camera's shut off was a tad bit more explicit than what he just said on channel 13.

The PG is, for the most part, the leader of the team on the court. How do you expect the other to fall into line when the leader of the team doesn't like a guy? I don't think Francis would do it purposely, but if he's still pouting maybe he does it unconsciously?
Personally, I don't care what the hell your saying....and about my pre-ordained lines, I already HATED how Francis and Mobley dribble and dribble taking over the offense and running a play w/ 6-7 seconds off the 24. And now w/ their attitudes about Ming, they are selfish and pathetic asswipes who haven't given Ming a chance at all!! They should just shut the hell up about all this and let management do their job!!
