It's funny that Troy wanted to see a "fan reaction" because he's one of the prime instigators for this fire and pitchfork mob mentality this board has now with Steve. Steve hasn't done anything yet, and the people who didn't like him or borderline fans of him are ready to boot him out of town...

I agree with HoRockets impression that Steve's feelings are like what Kobe went through early on in his career. He wanted to be "the man" because he believed that he could take his team to the championships.
If you look at these past couple years, the Rockets had that inflated mentality that they deserved to be in the playoffs without getting there. Steve believes he can win with the team he has now, and this "project" might drag him down. Or worse off, they'll win and he might have to share the credit, ala Shaq...

The Rockets aren't going to trade Steve even if the rumors are true, and they're gonna draft Ming. They're gonna cross two fingers and see if they can hammer out their differences. If Steve and Cat has been watching playoff games, they better realize you don't have to be friends off the court to be a team on it.

I still believe in Steve. I don't believe in the system the Rockets have now though. If things don't work out, most likely the common fan will look at Rudy and not Steve.

AzCkR,

If you've watched the Kandiman play only this season, you'll have the impression that his aggressiveness is more because this is a contract year. He put up decent numbers for the second half of his contract season, and now he wants ten million??

It's the typical Clippers FA mentality. Play big during contract year, get worried about Sterlings cheapness, start putting out negative press about Sterling's cheapness to the local media, and let their agent do the work with the trade details... Derrick Anderson, Lorenzen Wright, Mo Taylor, etc. These people didn't deserve the money they wanted. They were playing for the Clippers for crying out loud!! Jeff Mcinnis averages double figures. Does that mean he deserves 5 million a year on another team?

Olawakandi is more like Elden Campbell, who started sucking after a fat contract year, and got traded to the Hornets. He ended up being a decent player but nowhere near the "top 5 centers of the NBA".

Because Jwill is guaranteed to be here 5 years, while Stevie isn't. Can you imagine the fun would have if his 2nd pick in the draft (stevie) waltzed away after a season or two while Jwill really BLEW UP down in Houston?

Not happening.

People need to stop talking about Steve Francis. All he said was "ive never been able to play with a player like that" and everyone is taking that negatively. What if he is looking forward to see Ming in Rockets Uniform and have a true center. All the other things abt to have odom was said by Mobley.

Verse,

I think there are more then a few of us who think Francis is less then fully committed to being a leader.

That being said, I think, or at least hope, that he will come around.
