Narrative goes.... well we tried (we still are the good guys)....... Also possibly MDA is getting cold feet because of those assistant coaches.
This is another one of those vague pieces of writing that is open to interpretation. Talks "appear to have stalled" is something anybody on this board could say. It's an accurate observation, but of course becauze it's Woj we don't know if this is based on inside knowledge
Tilman is cold and ruthless... I like it. Next step is to retract Morey's contract. No more running circles around an 80 year old owner. This owner means business
Doesn't sound like a big surprise to me at this point, if they wanted to extend Mike they would've done it already i think, even though i guess it's also possible that they're waiting to see what players/assistants they might be able to get.
LMFAO I'm shocked. Everything I have read this offseason led me to believe the front office and D'Antoni were completely on the same page.
"we're gonna just do what we do. We're not worried about what they're doing. If we do what we do, we'll be just fine." the man is obviously a genius. i'm not sure why talks have stalled. Clearly other teams will be falling all over themselves to grab a true x's and o's basketball genius in MDA if we let him walk in free agency. We can't win a championship without this guy. The future success of our team is tied to locking MDA up. lol
They have no place to really go. They are not in the driver's seat to turn this roster around. They don't have cap space. They don't have young/cheap assets to trade. They won't trade their franchise player.
it's like when your pringles chip gets stuck in the onion dip and you're too lazy dig it out with a 2nd pringles chip so you just leave it there to marinate and get all soggy while it stalls for a while
You want to leave the door open in case a big name is interested in coming here, but doesn't like MDA...
