No doubt there is work to be done. I wanted JVG back, but now that we have Rick he deserves a fair shot. Especially with his track record. There is no doubt that Tmac is MUCH more comfortable in this offense. I also expect Yao to start getting more comfortable. With the spacing in this offense, they will get many more easy shots.
I don't really miss JVG much, in terms of playing style. I missed that winning record, but I think this year's team is capable of doing it too. I'm glad we have Adelman instead of some overrated douche that'll quit on us after 2 years like Larry Brown.
Let's see how we close the month. Next 3 opponents like to run. Tmac's shot well, and Frnacis played pretty well too. Other than that, I dont think we played much better than against Dallas, San Anton, or Miami.
I don't think the point is whether or not Denver was lethargic....The point is, it's gonna take some time for Adleman to work out his rotations and get players to play a very, very sophisticated offense. A coach, even a good coach with great players, needs time to work this stuff out. Don Nelson changed his lineup i don't know how many times last year before going with the group who made that rediculous end season run and beat dallas. Mr. Clutch is right on--people who advocate firing a coach 12 games into their tenure need to slow their roll.
Hold your horses!! Nothing to do with Coach 'A' it was the miracle abduction of the players from the flight home last night!
At this rate we aren't going to even make the playoffs. Myself, I'm sure we'll improve and make them, but to compare our team last year to this year is premature considering we had a better defense AND offense to this point.
So far our scoring average has actually been worse than last year. We averaged 97.0 points a game last year, and gave up 92.1 This year we are averaging 95.6 points and giving up 93.4 But assuming you are being sarcastic, you are right that people are over reacting if they are calling for Adelman to be fired just because we lost some early games, most of which with Tmac out or still obviously affected by his elbow injury.
We need to renegotiate Adelman's contract so that it extends itself after he shows up to camp every year. There is a precedent for this. Texas A&M football coach Dennis Franchione's 5 year contract had a year added to the end every year, that way if they wanted to fire him without wrongdoing, they'd have to pay him for the next 4 years. We've got the coach we want, we should do whatever it takes to keep him.
Always great to see another "hold your horses everybody, the season is still young!" thread. If I don't see on of those every 2 days, I have a tendency to loosen the reins and let the ol'horses run wild! Whoohoo!
