And it follows, accordingly, that tougher regulation would have (might have?) caught this rogue outfit.

you misunderstand, ammonium nitrate is stored in massive open air piles. It is a 0 on flammability

Sure. I honestly don't have a dog in the fight over "Texas this or Texas that regulation blah blah". I was clarifying from a technical/risk standpoint; in that regard I think we are aligned.

I didn't think I did either until I saw people gloating. That is really disturbing.

I think there's an interagency communication problem. Texas regulators should be reporting these red flag items to DHS directly instead of only putting the onus on the plant owner to self-report. The owner should have a responsibility to report, but relying only on self-reporting for information is unwise. And, with communication failures, it's hard to see how much is on DHS for not asking, and how much is on Texas for not responding or volunteering information.

Well, he's a sick ****, so it's just par for the course for him. He thinks it's so funny that he's "lulz"ing after claiming he knew people affected by this.

I am not just talking about this instance. Republican have always been saying less regulations is better. Why not carry it to the extreme and test it in Texas. Get rid of all regulations and see how it works.

If most Republicans do not agree with this view, then it means at least some regulations are needed and it is not always the less regulations the better. Plenty of people in Republican party want to get rid of EPA, FDA etc.

That might be the case, but is has nothing to do with Texas. The amount of chemicals the facility keeps is annually reported to the EPA.

I was clearly lulzing at you two

and it's clear the truth struck a defensive nerve with you. Taught you a lesson to show some respect.

You feel this accident gives you the opportunity to say "Hey Texas! How is that deregulation working out for you? hahaha! Better still deregulate it all! hahah"

Your entire premise is wrong, and the gloating is sickening.

I think you should start by showing some respect to people here. Instead of trying to cast people's discussion into some kind of "gloating" or read into people intentions, or try to put people down in your little game of trying to be the king jack-fool of D&D.

Seriously man. Do you think all your race-baiting, president bashing, and what not gets you anywhere? Does it make that very small man inside you feel big? What are you trying to compensate for?

Maybe it's time to turn over a knew leaf. Maybe try to actually follow some of that Christian values you love to shout out and push on people, but rarely ever actually follow yourself.

Yeah, so pointing out why deregulation failed miserably is gloating? I guess it means that if someone says we need tougher anti-terror efforts they are gloating about the Boston bombing right?

    Your logic is lacking.

Not surprised how defensive you're acting.

If you're acting disrespectful, I will call you out and humiliate you like I've done in this thread. You're doing nothing but grave dancing over the loss of innocent lives because it happened in Texas which is your mind is your "political enemy". You then proceeded to lecture the board on the merits of regulation.

You've been called out for what you've done.

Show some respect next time and you'll be treated like an adult.

I wondered how or why this would need to be in the D&D, and now I see. "Well done."

The only thing that failed was West,Texas not having a reliable fire department for a situation like this.

The lack of knowledge amongst the volunteer fire department really hurt.

Any chemical fire must be treated appropriately and that was not achieved here, evident by the chemical reaction that happened shortly after the fire.

You guys need to go get poon.
