I would do Thomas, Nocioni, Hinrich, for McGrady/Alston/james though I doubt salary's would match up.....
I agree. Which is what makes trading him out of the question. No one will offer an equal value. Its not that McGrady is a bad player, just low trade-in value. Like a classic Porsche or Ferrari that will cost zillions to fix if it does in fact break. Baron Davis was dealt for little from the Hornets along the same basis. Now he is in shape, healthy, and dedicated.
If we trade tmac now, we might as well kiss the season goodbye. It takes time (30+ games) to adjust to the new system. It will take new players time to adjust. And the current rotation might be good, but they are not contender good. We need tmac to be elite. I hope all these news doesn't become distraction to the team.
Paxson: "Hey Daryl. Would you like to have Duhon and Wallace for T-Mac?" Morey: *click* Sure sounds like exploration to me.
Wait a minute... Didn't Chicago finally agree to trade Deng towards the end of the Lakers-Bulls saga? But Kobe made it known that he would veto any trade with the Bulls if Deng wasn't there? Please correct me if I'm wrong. If I'm trading with the Bulls, it's got to be Deng, Heinrich, and a future 1st round pick for McGrady. This package is of course impossible because of Heinrich being a BYC. But even then, I would still be skeptical. Deng's achilles' tendon problems scare me.
I like Gordon,Thomas is exciting with upside. Our biggest need is a top class PG IMO which is extremely hard to obtain.Hinrich is possibly the best PG which the Rockets could get but he hasn't done particularly well this year. That's why I would be hesitant to make such a move. I do feel that Tracy's trade value is a bit low right now. Chicago might not even agree to give up Gordon and Thomas in a combination for him,let alone giving all these 3 players for him.
As someone said earlier there are too many rumors coming from too many different reports to not have some bit of truth and probably more than a bit. These rumors started floating around shortly after Les had a talk with Adelman requesting why the offense looked worst than last year... Perhaps Adelman responded with “Because Tmac refuses to run it”. So then Les ask Morey to feel around and see what they can get for their Star. And Tmac gets wind of this and suddenly his legitimate injuries took a turn for the worse. But irregardless of the scenario, we will never get equal or near equal value for Tmac. And we will never find a player who is as gifted as Tmac. So why not wait till tmac comes and see how he gels with the team and tries to run Adelman’s offense before getting screwed by an opposing team for unequal players for Tmac. My feeling is Tmac doesn’t want to leave the Rockets. What other team will guarantee an all star selection on just a better than average season. He is very popular in China but watch that drop when he leaves. Also where else can he get more for his dollar than in the Houston economy. Not to mention Houston is a cool cith that many pro athletes make their homes. So my feeling is TMac is on a short leash. If he comes back and tries to gel with the team and the team shows some improvement with him back then he gets a stay until the end of the season. But if he plays good but the team looks stagnate around him and doesn't win when they should then I see the plug being pulled before the trade deadline.
IIRC, in the end the Lakers people revealed Deng was always on the table while Kobe was never on offer. Bulls planting rumors to get a deal going then and now.
I'd take 2 out of 3 between Ty Thomas, Deng, and Gordon. Preferably the former 2.. that's just me though. Esp. considering Deng is having a down year, Thomas is out of favor with new management, and Gordon is older and still an undersized 6th man... it seems possible with the Bulls struggling.
The salaries don't come close to matching up and it's an incredibly stupid idea from the Rockets point of view.
Maybe TMac needs to go back the LEastern Conference Rocket River it is too rough over here in the wild west for him
In NBA, the rule has always been, Never trade a superstar for a bunch of faked stars. Please say no to Deng, Gordon, Thomas, Hinrich etc etc. I know alot of you hate t-mac becos of Yao but trading away an arguably top 5 talent of the league for a bunch of wannabes will not solved the rockets woes! I m basically in the mode of giving the T-mac and Yao duo one last chance this season before blowing it up. However i will do the below trade! Sorry i cant help but to join the trade T-mac fun going around on this board rite now! T-mac + Mike James for Okafor + J Rich Why bobcats will do this trade? Okafor has been a failure for the last 4 seasons unable to lift the team to playoffs contention stage. JRich failed to be the closer Jordan wished when he signed JRich. With T-mac, a talent player if Jordan able to light a fire under T-mac's a$$ he will be at the same level as Kobe. Plus the T-mac and G. Wallace will be like Jordan-Pippen lite. In the East, the bobcats can still grab a playoffs spot. As for the Rockets, wish to get Wallace but I doubt the bobcats are willing to part him, Okafor solves the Rockets PF one and for all and with JRich we got another slasher and 3ptr. The lineups will be: Yao/Scola/Deke Okafor/Hayes/Landry Battier/Bonzi/Novak JRich/Head/Synder Alston/Brooks/Francis
they probably did talk....AFTER the BS sam smith article was released. this was this guys plan right from the beginning and it pisses me off how well it is working. create a rumor, let it circulate online and in news, it becomes FACT. i dont want anyone off that bulls roster. havent you people seen them play this year ? they suck. if we deal with them i am seriously going to be pissed
