It was an ACL injury that only allowed him to play half of a college season and kept him out his entire first season in the league. There will be the same thread when Embiid plays next year.

Giannis should have been the number 1 pick last season, but he dropped to 15 because at least 14 NBA GMs are r****ded.

    Hardly the case.

He should have went higher, but it didn't help that the only footage of Giannis was lower tier Greek basketball that looked like it was from the 80's

I wouldn't go as far r****ded but I personally thought, along with the most of board, that he should go number 1

Do you think GM's should be drafting lottery picks based on video footage? Morey went to see him in person even though he know Giannis would fall out of the first round.

Kids with his physical gifts don't come around often. All things being equal, you always draft the freaks of nature.

How did Rudy Gobert go pick 27 in the same draft after having massive hype around him

I'm confident that most of the lottery GMs sent someone to see him in person. That doesn't change the fact he didn't even play for the premier league in Greece.

His physical gifts are impressive, but he was hardly an obvious #1 overall.

IMO, he should have been a top 5 pick at minimum

Yeah, he wasn't really tearing it up either. A friend of mine actually got to watch him play in some international u19 game and apparently he didn't look anything special.

How do you explain the obvious to someone who thinks Mike Conley and Rudy Gay are superstars?

The fact that you had to wait until nearly the end of his 2nd season to ask that question should be your answer.

I really wasn't asking a question. I was being sarcastic. So you added sarcasm on top of a sarcastic question. Not sure which sarcasm wins in this situation: i'm confused.

Hindsight is 20/20 man. He was coming off of a bad Kentucky team where he tore his ACL. There have been lots if too picks who came in with injuries who never materialized, and Noel could have been another one.
