I am the biggest Vspan fan on this board, and I too think he is our best defensive pg. But he still is turnover prone and like it or not JVG is not going to play him right now. I would have played Vassillis but I can't completely argue against the kids tO's. It's abit of a gamble putting him out there but IMO the gamble is worth a shot when the payoffs could be so great. Obviously JVG doesn't agree.

As for JVG's coaching. I am not a fan but it is hard to slam a man who is making an effort to change. I see him on the sidelines talking to his players, trying to teach and coach and suck out a win. But his job is not easy. Bonzi is a very good player who is still way out of sync. Tmac was a superstar who is actually a liability right now and Chuck Hayes as much as I love him is undersized and has no offensive game. Yao was in foul trouble and Alston had a terrible first half and still the rockets were leding in the 3rd and only down by 1 in the 4rth. And if Tmac would have just played a little better down the stretch we might have still won. So except for maybe playing Vspan which is debatable it's hard to blame JVG for this loss.

actually, what's stupid is continuing to play Yao in the first quarter after he picked up 2 fouls in less than 5 minutes.

My sentiments as well. He should have pulled him after 2 fouls. That was a mistake. But it would have been even more stupid if he had risked his 4th foul in the 2nd quarter.

I doubt it's because T-Mac is scared. He hasnt found his rhythm that's obvious ... We are after all at game 3 of an 82 game season!

The first 10 games of a season can be virtually a wash. Remember 2004? We started 6-11 then finished the season 51-31. This team will be fine. It's more talented than 2004. Just relax on the T-Mac sucks refrain.

It was a risky move. They did it in the first game too, and Yao managed to play out another 5-6 minutes in the first quarter without committing another foul, doing decently. Unfortunately this time he comes back and commits a foul on the very next play. I guess JVG will hesitate a lot more when thinking about leaving him in with 2 fouls next time.
