JJ did a pretty decent job guarding the SF position in the Detroit game with whatever little minutes he had
I always thought teams need guys like JJ..but we also need a superstar to make up for the offensive woes.
been saying he needs more minutes...however, i didnt watch the game and i'm assuming, based on the OP, that he was only in there to match up with prince or daye, who have similar builds/speed. I doubt RA will keep using him.
It is not a good sign if JJ gets more minutes. Use him only for matchups. Same with Chuck when Yao returns.
Bench Bud, play Jeffries 2nd team Brooks Lee Jeffries Hill Yao Thats a lot of wallop on the 2nd team. But thats what the fans want!
JJ is strictly a situational defender. Just because he did well in the situational minutes Adelman chose to give him (against the worst teams in the league, no less) doesn't mean he should be given more minutes against worse matchups.
there's no reason to play him zero minutes while yao is out and we have only one defender taller than 6'9 and even he isn't getting a lot of minutes. Miller can defend somewhat, but is slow. He should be given about a minute or slightly more per quarter for about 4-6 minutes a game. Scola's been burning out because of too many minutes and chuck has been having issues witht taller players. Just put him out there for a few posessions and tell him to go all out and create some havoc out there defensively.
How many times do i have to come on this board and tell everybody that Taylor is a scrub. I can not believe they even keep him let alone PLAY him in favor of Ish?? Ohhhh pls!!

If you keep mixing up names/initials then no one knows how many times you'll have to do it. The thread is about Jared Jeffries.
Jeffries is a fine defender.. now if he'll just quit blowing layups and easy shots, he'd be on the floor already.
Jeffries's game is that of a situational player, though his career experience is a rotation player. The past 5 seasons, Jeffries has started anywhere from 34 games to EVERY game for the team's be's been on, and a steady 23 minutes a game. He can at least be like a Scott Padgett type option, not a Brian Cook.
I really like his defense. Somebody proposed to trade with him. I can not say it is a bad idea. However, even he can not be traded, he is still have good use. If we meet Lakers, I think it is good to use him to guard Odom. and some other guy like Odom. Besides, he is also good at making offensive fouls.
Brian Cook is now a rotational player for the Clips. Ahh the Clippers, where scrubs go to get playing time...
JJ is always cheering the team on from the Bench, you can tell he likes the team, he is a good guy to have around the team. His defense is good but his offense is awful.. He should get 5-10 minutes here and there but not at the expense of developing hill
