Getting more plays for Dwight is good, but they need to figure out how to create better spacing for him. Even when he did touch the ball in the second half, a lot of those plays he'd turn to the basket and run into 3 or 4 Clipper players.
To be fair, it's pretty much expected that Doc will outcoach McHale. He's not considered one of the best HC's in the NBA by accident. I had a bad feeling about the game when we weren't able to extend the lead by midway of the 3rd quarter. Doc made some excellent adjustments, and it didn't seem like McHale had a clue what to do. No fault on McHale, he's just outclassed.
For all his faults, D'Antoni still got a team to the WCF and deep into the play offs multiple times. And few would debate that he's one of the best offensive coaches in the NBA. I wouldn't want him coaching the defensive side, but when it comes to offensive PnR sets, he's pretty darn good.
so D'Antoni could coach Blake,Johnson,Farmar and who was the other guy Meeks into Ray Allens? and he can't coach Melo and Kobe and go all the way to the WC or EC?
Now you're being ridiculous. However, that end of game play he ran was pretty effective. D'Antoni had the team blown up multiple times during his tenure on the Knicks, Melo dogged it multiple times in D'Antoni's last season (just look at his level of play change soon as D'Antoni left), and Kobe had the misfortune of both losing Nash, then Pau for months, and then blowing out his achilles late in the season. This was on top of Dwight still being very far from 100%. You can dislike D'Antoni if you wish, but his ability to design movement offenses is both very well known and respected in the NBA. That doesn't mean he makes a great HC or good HC for every team, but he does know how to get a man free, especially in the PnR.
I saw a better start, it was slow but the defense at first was better or not as bad. Still i don't understand why they are going with the TT to start the game and the 2nd half. can't they see its not working. Specially on the second half they stayed to long with the TT and thats when the Clippers came back or got the momentum. I thought it was Pat fault tonight. Cliff Paul was quiet but Beverly got on his skin and Paul got hot. First emotionally but then on the floor too. He made Pat get in foul trouble. I don't understand Pat he got a foul and still attack Paul and got another foul. Like he has to know that there are some guys that when they feel challenged they come out and play better. Like Russell Westbrook. the same thing happened on the Playoff.
And you are just embellishing things for him. He did have certain success but he is one sided and is only good as an offensive coordinator on the Olympic team or some average NBA team. He had several allstars (2xMVP) on the Suns team you forgot to mention. He is just not a well rounded coach. I think he never went to the Finals with an MVP. Most MVPs made the Finals once at the least. I don't think he is as well respected around the league as you think. He has been a journeyman after Phoenix. I can respect his offense but not the guy as an overall coach.
