I'd say you couldn't go wrong with one of these for close quarters fighting.

You see my mule don't like people laughing. He gets the crazy idea you're laughing at him. Now if you apologize like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Ebert and Roper gave it 2 thumbs up and it got a 9/10 from Comingsoon.net. I checked Rotten Tomatoes and it seems over all, the critics haven't been kind. I'm watching it tonight though.

I also noticed that a movie a friend of mine really wants to watch, The Princess Blade, has got a 70 % on Rotten Tomatoes and a 100% from the "cream of the crop" reviewers. I guess I'll check that one out at the Angelika later this month.

Anyhow, who has seen SWAT? What did you think?

True, although the movie is called just Heat - that is one of my favorite shooting scenes as well, and I've definitely seen a lot of shooting scenes. Kilmer and DeNiro shooting off the M4A1's (believe that's what they were if memory serves) is just awesome.

I plan on seeing S.W.A.T. as well. I know it will be overdone now after hearing it's by the same director as the Fast and the Furious and XXX, but you know it will be entertaining. That is, if you like the shoot 'em up movies that Schwarzenegger, Stallone, and Willis are famous for.

The P-90 is bad@$$, but I can only say that after having used it in the game Counterstrike...:D

just got back from seeing it...

The movie starts out with a famous shooting scene...but it isn't really the same thing...The movie focuses on a few characters a lot better half way than in the beginning...(Colin Farrel is the main focus) I really liked it since it moved well and it set up the ending pretty good...+ Samuel proves he's the man again!...

Enjoyable!,...I wished for more romance and believe it or not, more blowups would have been appreciated...A big plus was some funny scenes...

    :) ....I give it a strong B+

It's the same producers, not director. Actually, i think that this is the first movie for this director.

I saw it this afternoon and really liked it. I enjoyed it more because they resisted having a stupid work related romance and there were no relatively ridiculous blowups like most action films seem to feature nowadays. I give it a B+ as well. Colin Farrell, Samuel, and the gang really meshed well I thought. I'd imagine there'll be an attempt at a SWAT 2. Kind of a Lethal Weapon SWAT style kind of series thing.

One of the best movies of the summer. I'd only rank The Italian Job ahead of it....much much better than the critics are saying.
