Except Gwayneco didn't you also say "you go to war with the equipment you have not the equipment you want" and go on discussing how thinly armored the Sherman Tank was. It sounds to me like now you think that we should be getting as much equipment as possible no matter the costs.
Care to actually read the article that you quoted. It stated that the military is overpaying for old vietnam era jeeps when it could get modern commercial ones for seven times less. Also, it's unarmored which makes no sense in an era of roadside bombs and ambushes in Iraq. Also, several people made other objections that you simply brushed aside with petty personal insults. Try answering those as well and maybe the "intellectual discussion" you envisioned might come to fruition.
