you're just arguing to argue now, the only point i'm making is that cuban mentioned yao, everyone knew who the freakin player in question was. calm down

calm down because i need the dumb ass pick with the pancake and bunny. you totally missed the point again. cuban already blew the cover, everyone knew whom to watch

I'm sayin the "fault" is on cuban

anyway back on topic, what is so hard to understand, you're complaining about stern

your argument now is that instead of stern calling out yao, he shouldn't have mentioned him specifically. my response is that cuban had already called out yao, so if stern puts out a memo saying watch illegal screens with no mention of yao, everyone already knows that it was a complaint about yao to bring the memo about.

    what's so hard ot understand

edit: and now that's the third time answering the question

He did not even have to mention screens at all.

The rhad-pgab thing is getting long.

I'll point out, in pgab's defense, that a generic "do better" instruction is pointless. The refs are already doing their best, supposedly, and it isn't good enough. So specificity is necessary.

In rhad's defense, the officials change every game. So, just because one or two crews didn't call the screens, the next crew may well have. That crew has not yet demonstrated they wouldn't call things they should call, so why should they get particular instruction on what to call, other than it is commonly known that basically all referees weren't calling that a foul all season long. It doesn't seem fair that something that wouldn't garner a whistle all season is suddenly not allowed.

Yeah I'm done. I guess the point is that the league needs to dissociate itself from the refs. I'd wager they're interfering and donaghy is telling the truth, but at a minimum the scent of impropriety is all over this thing. Best to make it independent of league governance.

A couple of things I would say,

the situation wasn't handled well by stern, he should have started off by reprimanding cuban.

    let me be clear

    JVG IS ALSO AT FAULT

He shouldn't have run to the media, his team blew a 2-0 lead going home (A CHOKE BY ANY OTHER NAME) and he ran to the media and whined about officiating, Mr. Take Responisibility for Your Actions himself

The league was put in a no win situation and they reacted by trying to correct a wrong and are still being raked over the coals, when fans, coaches, players, owners complain about officiating all the time. If the star player treatment all of sudden got corrected in a series by game three would you now turn your complaints to the correction?

The NFL actually had a similar situation. Peyton Manning goes into Foxborough in 03 in the playoffs, the Patriots beat his receivers up and down the field to the tune of a terrible game for the Colts. Peyton goes for 1 td 4 picks, 35 rating

The very next freakin year, the NFL changes the rules, and the star poster boy of the league who's team was "victim" of rules in 03, sets the untouchable touchdown record in 04

NO ONE SAYS A FREAKIN WORD
