Wouldn't it be ha-ha funny if JVG recreates his old Knicks team in Houston, which in turn causes him to have an epiphany which reminds him why he quit coaching the Knicks in the first place. That would be a great day in Rockets history!!!

Apparently someone here has already bought my idea and started spreading the "good" news about Ewing's comeback........

Its up.......at of all places.......A Mavs Forum!?!

    Link to Ewing Thread........

I wonder..........this might cause Cuban to **** his pants and then activate and un-retire Rolondo Blackman!!!!!!!

I gotta get back to work........somebody please spread this to the ESPN forums, SpurCentral, Phxsuns.net, LakersGround.net etc........let the whole nation go crazy.

    Ewing's coming back.......wahoo!!!!!!!

I've been looking forward to the annual April 1st Clutch joke.

I agree that the year of the Spurs change was the best one to date. Unfortunately all of the april fools threads in the hangout had me prepared for the day.

I actually thought that the April Fools joke for today would be that there was no April Fools this year. That would be horrible.

I guess that we've got a bunch of new people around here that haven't had the fun of the April Fools jokes from years gone by.

    Thanks again Clutch!

I bet this is particularly effective this year with the hoards of overseas fans who likely aren't familiar with this.

Thank you for the Ewing post. I've been checking all morning, expecting to see this years "special post" being the cancellation of the April 1 viewing party. At least now I feel better about taking off work this afternoon and driving to Houston. Been thinking all week about how dumb some 'bozo' would feel, arriving at Main street tonight after a 3+ hour drive to find the bar closed.......

I wonder if Van Gundy will bench Yao for Ewing.

Clutch BBS April fools day tradition continues. Every year, every time, hundreds get caught :D :D :D Nevertherless this was still a good one again, almost beats the "Yao out for the season" story last year.

I guess the old Knicks are trying to get "their ring back".

I like the move to activate Patrick Ewing. We certainly haven't been playing as well with Cato out of the line-up. Spoon and Taylor do not have the size to guard opposing teams centers when Yao gets in foul trouble or needs a breather.

Ewing will be able to provide a good 10 minutes a night similar to how Mark Jackson is filling in for Steve Francis.

    Good move CD and JVG.

The only question now is should Ewing start over Yao?

    Pat's 22.8 ppg 10.4 rpg says yes.

Someone needs to get this on one of the Fakers forums. I can't remember what the adresses are to them, but I think there are a couple of good ones.

I just heard that Jeff Van Gundy has contacted a lab in Arizona in order to bring Dave DeBusschere back from the dead and sign him to a 10 day contract.

    News at 11.

You know why this fooled so many people? Because activating Ewing is no sillier than signing Charles Oakley. It seems like a move the Rockets might make. The best jokes have some element of truth to them. Congratulations, Clutch.

Judging by the syntax, was this the source?

    Know you will not.

Ewing is supposed to answer questions at 11:00.

I didn't feel like reading through this, did anybody really fall for it?

It's getting harder to trick people, especially when posters talk about "what will Clutch do next" basically tipping new posters off.
