I am a Star Trek DS9 and Voyager fan. Not hardcore. But I enjoy watching it. I cant wait for the movie. From what I have heard you dont really need to know too much.

Do you honestly expect Austin fanboys to be impartial?

I was stoked when I saw the first trailer. And the last one left my jaw on the floor. Great to see it's exceeding all expectations. JJ Abrams hasn't made a bad flick yet.

Obviously, I would've been disappointed to go to a screening of Wrath of Khan and get this instead. ;)

I would have thought that Star Trek fanboys would have been the HARDEST group to get to like the new movie, especially since its a re-invention of a lot of the characters/story.

The fact that the nerdy, hardcore fans didn't nitpick it apart points to this being a good movie.

Yeah, I kinda agree. I know jack **** about ST for the most part, but the folks going to see a Wrath of Kahn screening are going to be pretty picky. I'd say that's a good indication for the ST fans.

Of course, that still doesn't mean much to everyone else.
