Entertainment Weekly put up a MASSIVE list of pretty much anything that covers pop culture the past 25 years, and the movie list is not bad, but still debate-able. http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20207076_20207387_20207063,00.html 1. I agree with ALOT of movies on here, but hard to compose 100 movies in the past 25 years, with me being 26 and not seeing probably 1/3rd of them. Their technology list is interesting with the DVD player being number one, I thought MP3/Napster would be number 1 but DVD caught one to pretty much everybody now.
I don't even see the Green Mile. Didn't mean to crap on your thread. Actually, I'm probably going to try to watch some of these movies I haven't seen yet.
i love both of those movies . and as the person said above. green mile is personally one of my top 10 movies ever...
Hoosiers...not being # 1, let alone - not being on the list; made this list blasphemous. Untouchables - should be top 5 and I didn't see it either. Planes, Trains, Automobiles & Uncle Buck make my top 10. Rambo, First Blood Part 2, Raw, Coming to America, Trading Places should also be mentioned. Was this list created by critics? If so, I understand - if not, it sucks.
i sure hope missing Shawshank was an enormous oversight on their part. odd that two people on this thread have already mentioned The Green Mile. that wouldn't make my top 100 of the past 25 years either.
The funny thing is that I noticed that omission immediately, and wondered if any other poster would notice too. One post later I got my answer. While I do think the list as a whole is pretty solid, leaving off Shawshank, as well as American History X, is a travesty.
