Yeah, since we have a knack for spinning off threads off the subject, where does "If you will" come from? I don't particularly laugh at "if you will", but sometimes, I want to "will" and I can't. Where does "If you will" come from?
Yeah, that's a good one, mind you. WTF is "mind you" at the end of a sentence, anyway? Is mind used in there as "[take care of] you" as in "I am minding my little brothers tonight" or Is mind used in there as "[brain] you" as in "Einstein had a great mind!" ?? This has always puzzled ME, mind you.
Well, I kinda had NWA legend Dusty Rhodes in mind when I posted that. That was a favorite phrase of his, drawled in his inimitable Dustyspeak as "Fyoo wheeeeeel..."
