Teams will figure it out soon enough, lay off Rafer and make him a shooter.

Rafer was everything the Magic hoped for, a playmaking PG that got the Magic settled and composed on offense. The Magic traded a 2nd round pick equivalent and a scrub that gets no PT for a major, I mean major upgrade at PG.

Next season, when Jameer returns, the Magic would have a above average backup PG in Rafer.

He might valet park it, and those guys should wear a rain jacket, less Rafer spit on them.

    Hahaha. Good one.

But he is right, he is gonna fit in nicely in Orlando. I'll definitely continue to follow him and the Magic have moved way up on my favorite teams list.

Rafer shot 44% from the field and from three with a 3:1 assist to turnover ratio in the playoffs last year against one of the best point guards in basketball. Aaron Brooks shot 32% and was 0-10 from 3 point range and had as many turnovers as assists against the back up to one of the best point guard in basketball.

How quickly some of you forget.

small sample size, Brooks was a rookie and still learning the game.

Rafer is what he is a horrible shooter and a good passer, the rockets couldn't play with a guy who couldn't shoot.

So I guess it's not Rafer's fault for letting Deron Williams absolutely destroy us 2 years in a row?

Right, small sample size. Is that Aaron Brooks shooting 40% from the field and 35% from three point range this year? That's roughly what Rafer shoots for his career.

Rafer didn't even play the first two games last year. Did Aaron Brooks do anything with Williams in the first two games last year? No, I would not blame our series losses on our fifth or sixth best player not being able to stop the other team's best player.

It's true and Rafer should do well for them.

Rafer's problem is that the highlighted statement doesn't apply when one of the other 4 guys on the court with him has the ball. There is at least one spot where, if they look, the'll find a guy who is inconsistent at best with the shooting, and struggles to finish when he drives.

And what does Rafer know about driving and finishing?

Im pretty sure just about everyone agrees that we got the MUCH better end of that deal. I don't miss him too much, people are overreacting about this trade because nothing big happened involving Artest or McGrady.

He will do fine, any decent point guard can make it in Orlando. You've got a dominant center and good shooters- he's set up for success. However, even before Nelson went down, I didn't believe that the Magic were true contenders, and the playoffs would have revealed that. Now with him out, they might get to the second round and out.

I like this. It reminds me of the movie trailers where that guy with the cool voice comments.

"Two teams, one trade and a franchise destroyed. Now it's time for payback. Now it's time to give them...........Rafer."

Kenny Smith just said that Rafer pushes the Magic past the Cavs as the second best team in the Eastern Conference.
