California has JPL which has been more of an intergral part of NASA recently since there have been less manned flights to space.

But in that entire list i think the one of the most important factors about California was abit glossed over in your state park details:

California has a lot of state parks that look like this:

    we also have this

and can go do this as well

and not to mention the amazing weather year round of course

one thing that California sadly also has more of (even though you have Dallas) is assholes

California would be a a paradise if we just got rid of 2/3 of the population.

Texas doesn't need to grow anymore either. We should put all the noobs in western Nebraska.

agreed. Once Nebraska fills in, start dumping them in the Dakotas.

I am not a native of either state, but I have lived for significant periods in both (5 years TX, 3 years CA). I loved living in Houston, but northern California is simply awesome.

The reason Texas is so cheap is because no one wants to live here. The reason people move to Texas is monetary. Essentially, its not because Texas is a nice place to live.

California has better weather and a more educated public. Isn't Texas school system below average?

Tons of people want to live here in Texas. I love it here (in Houston) because the people are great. Granted, I've never been to CA, but I trust The_YoYo and if he says that Cali somehow has even more a-holes than Dallas, I'm not in any hurry to get there.

It's cheaper to live other places than Texas, yet people still move to Texas. Cost of living is a big reason, just not the only reason.
