    I thought he had come a long time ago. I don't know why but I knew he had a long term gay partner for years. I thought it was public knowledge. Maybe I knew some people who knew him, or something and heard from them.

    I don't know why I thought this was a known thing.

    Maybe for the same reason why Tom Cruise, and Kevin Spacey is "known" for being gay. It's a rumor that a lot of people take seriously.
