Seems to me there is a pattern to trades. Lower seeds making moves while higher seeds staying pat.
We are a top 4 seed and we would not want to mess up what we have. Other teams that are lower seeds or have aging stars are more desperate and don't have to worry as much about messing up chemistry. DAL-LA trade is still super weird...

Nothing is ever a lock till season end so thats a moot point.

The point is if you got 2nd seed with 22 yr olds you will be much better when these 22 yr olds are 25 yr olds. Thats the story of majority of NBA players they get better when they reach their prime.

The Griz didn't get better ;) Falling to the 7th seed may be our best shot

Well that's a lot of IFs. IF the Rockets do end up with the 2nd seed by end of the year. IF the overwhelming reason the Rockets got the 2nd seed is due to 22yr olds and not a 31yr old PG on the downside of his career. IF all the 22yr olds are still making so little money the team can upgrade elsewhere with the extra cash like they do now. Then yes, said 25yr old team 3 years into the future will be much better.

This would be a great point if our team wasn't dependant on FVV and Brooks. We're not exactly OKC here who relies strictly on young players. Take away FVV and Brooks, are we a 40 win team? I highly doubt it. Also development isnt always linear

Memphis tried to get Butler. They simply failed because unfortunately, they're Memphis. Denver also tried to make some changes and simply failed to do them. Rockets and Thunder are the only teams who truly have been willingly staying pat.

Rockets need to try to get into the playoffs. They need playoff experience with there new Allstar
Segun. Need to get there feet wet, and then in a year or two i bet they will make those moves.

It makes perfect sence not to change any of the team chemistry that are young when your in
3rd seed record wise with a young ball club.

I hope they can get in to the playoffs, the year will get tough after the allstar break. The
reason all these teams are making big moves cause the younger teams are doing better, and there
trying to mix and match. Lakers will be tough thou now with luka thats for sure.

If the Rockets could get Kevin Durant at a reasonable cost, it’s worth it to help the young guys learn how to win the playoffs over the next couple of seasons. The Rockets don’t have playing time for more young players as it is. They already struggle to give Cam Whitmore minutes when everyone is healthy.

I don't see how KD would get young guys more playing time.

I didn’t say that Durant would give the young guys more playing time. I was saying that having an elite scorer/late-game closer would help the young Rockets experience more playoff success and learn how to win in the playoffs. Also, my point about Cam Whitmore struggling to get minutes when the Rockets are completely healthy was that the Rockets don’t have much playing time to give more rookies in the near future. Therefore, they are going to have to consolidate their assets (young players and picks) into significant upgrades at some point soon.

Cam Whitmore being a blackhole is the reason why Cam doesn't get more minutes. Amen is playing like 40 minutes a game recently and he was drafted the same draft as Cam.

With fans like this, I wouldn't even bother waking up every deadline if I was Stone. The almighty Steven Adams who can't play back to backs and more than 25 when he does play. I'm sure you'll point out he got Jaden Springer next year when Stone does nothing again.

That’s part of the reason, but the other reason is that aren’t many minutes available when VanVleet, Green, Brooks, Amen, Sengun, Eason and Jabari Smith Jr. are healthy. Amen is only seeing 40 minutes a game right now because the Rockets are missing VanVleet and Jabari and Sengun missed a few games recently.

If the Rockets are fully healthy, someone like Whitmore gets 15-18 minutes at best if he plays well and within the team structure.

We’re basically Atlanta from a decade ago. No one took them serious cause they knew they were a fake top seed.
