You know you get 25 votes per email address so it's easy to help them out. The good thing is after you vote the first time your last vote is kept in a cookie then you can just hit vote again and hit submit and the same one goes through.

I already did my all astros NL votes :D

Houston has got to be the biggest homer city in the country when it comes to All-Star voting.

Berkman & Kent are the only two batters on the team that deserve to be anywhere near the All-Star Game, but Houston has a player in the top 2 or 3 at every single position.

Everett is having nowhere near the offensive season that Jack Wilson has, and their defensive numbers are nearly identical.

I neglected to mention in my other post, but it's this kind of crap that makes me wish they would take the voting away from the fans again.

    Not even close.

In deference to MadMax, I will admit that Biggio is having a fine season. However, there are at least a dozen outfielders in the NL who are having better years.

With the exception of SF, Houston has had more home games than any other team in MLB.

Plus, we are at or near the top fo the league in attendance so far.

Last, the Astros, unlike any other year, have really pushed the voting for the home town guys at the games.

Those three things pretty much explain why so many of our guys are at or near the top in voting at their position.

Id be shocked if anyone, but Kent, remained near the top when the voting is all said and done.

I only wish to God we were MORE of a homer city. More like Boston, where their passion for the team is ridiculous...where you can literally feel it walking through the streets of the town. Yeah...I wish.

(p.s. I am encouraged by the fans at the games this year. I went to Friday's game and the fans were on their feet the entire bottom of the 8th and 9th innings -- that's a very good thing)

No...we need to get rid of that guy. he's killing us out there.

    p.s. -- name 'em. I can only find 11 on CBSSportsline.com's rankings:

Finley, Griffey, Burnitz, Abreu, Giiles, Cabrera, Drew, Berkman, Alou, Bonds, Burrell

Among centerfielders, only Finley and Griffey rank higher in the NL.

Wilson is a strikeout machine. He's struck out about 2x as many times as Biggio in about 20 less at bats.

This is also the problem with comparing batters. Biggio is a leadoff hitter. Is it more valuable to have a player like him hitting around .300 and getting on base...or is it more valuable to have Jim Edmonds hitting just over .260 with 3 more homers than Bidge and 7 more RBI's, but hitting in the 5 spot? I'd argue Biggio is having a far better year than Jim Edmonds, given what he's supposed to do.

Luis Gonzalez is batting .242. I'm not buying that he's having a better year than Bidge, all the way around.

Well, CBSSportsline is wrong. Why don't you analyze the numbers yourself instead of relying on someone else. For one thing, they don't have Burnitz listed as a CF, when he has played the majority of his games there this year.

I am! I'm looking at it by position...and by where they are placed in their lineup. You're comparing a cleanup hitter to a leadoff hitter. And one who's traditionally been a corner outfielder. Burnitz is not exactly a traditional CF. Good luck with that.

I have, and you tell me which player is having the better season:

    Biggio - 0.304 BA, 0.354 OBP, 0.488 SLG, 36 R, 8 HR, 26 RBI

    Jones - 0.255 BA, 0.345 OBP, 0.542 SLG, 32 R, 12 HR, 32 RBI

Your argument for Biggio is always his runs scored and his OBP. Well Jones has nearly the same OBP and number of runs scored, and his SLG is 50+ points higher. Which player would you rater have?

does Jones bat leadoff??? my argument for biggio isn't always OBP and runs scored...from the leadoff spot, he's only 4 HR shy of Jones and only 6 RBI shy of Jones. wouldn't you expect a hitter in Jones' slot to have a higher slugging percentage??? he should!

    at best, they're a wash

You are impossible to debate with. Your arguments are so convoluted and couched with stipulations that they cannot be discussed with you. Biggio is not exactly a traditional CF either, but your blinders prevent you from making any sort of comparison.

So what are the criteria that you want do compare? Outfielders who used to be catchers, then second basemen, who are number 7? In that case, you win, Biggio is the best ever.

    Good luck with that.

That's what happens when an organization creates excitement by actually bringing in players that will help compete for a championship.

I've pretty much been voting all the Stros', except Morgan and Dalgy, but I didnt' expect this...

Kent and Adam deserve this, but so does Biggio and Berkman...
