It has always been human nature for societies to celebrate and remember great accomplishments.

Winning an NBA Championship (or two) qualifies as a great accomplishment.

Those two championships will always be memorable for two reasons. One being that the Rockets are the first to bring a championship to the city and the first NBA title to the state. Two, that they went back to back, which is something the Spurs have yet to claim.

sonics series was ours! so was the jazz! malone held drexler, barkley ran out there at the last minute, nbc called it a miscommunication on the rockets part. those do sting

reliving is great. my only thing how to use it when say a dallas fan talks mess.

its ok in this scenario: mav fan: our team is better, yours sucks
hou fan: our team is gonna rule this year,we won 22 in a row,and have more titles than you...

when its not ok to live in the past to avoid this. mav fan:yall suck,we beat yall in the playoffs.

hou:ya well we got two titles...

mav fan:that was over 10 yrs ago

it has to be used right in trash talkin, ex we were better then and now!

that being said i love our championships and can watch old dream highlights all day!!

That would be the votes of "NO" to "YES" if there was a poll to this thread.

    How about this team

    Year/Playoffs
    2007-08 ...
    2006-07 Lost Eastern Conference Semifinals
2005-06 Lost Eastern Conference First Round
2004-05 Lost Eastern Conference First Round
    2004-04 ...
    2002-03 ...
    2001-02 ...
    2000-01 ...
    1999-00 ...
    1998-99 ...

3 playoffs in 10 years, only one year advancing past 1st round. That would the Chicago Bulls.
But we'll neeeeeeeeeeever stop hearing about their championships

Yeah, I like watching the really painful losses repeatedly. Makes you strong. Seriously, what kind of question is this?

Exactly. Shoot, any time the 1993 Bills vs Oilers comeback game is on, I always watch it, and still wonder how the hell the Oilers lost that game.

Um, actually, NO we did not "blow pretty hard." The Rockets are one of the most storied franchises in the NBA. In the 80s, we were damn near having a dynasty just like the Celtics if it wasn't for the drug problems (and other issues) of some of our best players. 2 finals appearances in a span of 5 years ain't too shabby, anyways. And ever since Les Alexander has owned the team, we have been a lock to be competitive year in and year out. But, there is absolutely nothing wrong with reliving past glories every now and then, as long as you stay focused on your goal at present.

There have been only 6 teams winning championships after the Houston Rockets won our straight two ships in 94n95 .They are bulls for 96-98 n lakers for 00-02 n spurs 99n03n05n07 , pistons for 04 and heat for 06 and celtics for 08 . But there are actually 30 teams in NBA in total , so how do the other 23 teams feel . All the championships of the recent two decades have been shared by just 7 teams ,and I really think there is no other them than the seven will be able to win the championship in the two decades to come . Then it's hopeful that we'll win another two or three or more ships during the following twenty years . Hell the mavs n suns , never to mention the cavs n any other team .

I expect our championships that the rockets will be gonna get in the near future . I salute yao ,tmac ,artest rafer and any other roster on our team .

Only someone who wasn't there and didn't really live it would ask a question like that. Back to Back Championships is more than what 95% of the rest of the NBA teams ever do. To watch a team go through a emotional roller coaster, help earn the city the nickname "Choke City". To turn that around, for that team to believe in each other, spit out a 15 game winning streak to start the season, ride into the playoffs as a 5th or 6th seed, have your back to the wall in every series and to win it all. That was amazing and not to many cities get that feeling.

To throw that "Choke City" label out the window, and earn the label of "Clutch City" was something that if you weren't there and didn't live it you just won't get it. You can never forget, and I've been trying to recapture that ever since. To have a center like Hakeem "Dream" Olajuwon who became unstoppable, you could see what was coming but you couldn't stop it. Send double, triple teams and you couldn't stop it. Hakeem made Ewing, Shaq, D.Robinson look like second rate players. Hakeem could put it in another gear that nobody could match. You only live something like once! :D
