Do I need to repost the taxes contained in Obamacare?

Obama has also publicly stated that taxes are going up at the end of this year.

This quote applies well to andymoon, King of the Meltdown.

Thomas Paine: “To argue with a man who has renounced the use and authority of reason is like administering medicine to the dead.”

Another swing and a miss by TJ
    http://factcheck.org/2012/06/romneys-solar-flareout/

Also despite Solyndra jobs have been created with the stimulus for alternative energy companies.

Whoops! The stimulus worked even though high profile cases like Solyndra make folks think otherwise.

Wow, FranchiseBlade, if you think the solar sector is healthy right now, I don't know what to tell you. It has been decimated with bankruptcies and stock prices that are down 80%+ over the last couple of years. It's a graveyard of failed companies.

Spain's bet on solar really paid off -- that economy sure is humming!

No, I would be much happier if the GOP would allow a jobs bill to pass the Senate so that we would have lower unemployment, but they care more about making Obama a one term President than helping out Americans who are struggling.

If that was a "Vesuvius" post, it is only because my facts are the lava which burned up and tore through your brother's lies.

Sorry I posted facts, and actual employers in the industry who've testified that because of the stimulus they've hired more workers to the tune of 40% more.

If you continue to ignore those and other relevant facts, I don't know what to tell you.

Unless you start addressing all the evidence and facts that are being thrown at you, then you aren't contributing anything worth talking about to this discussion.

The GOP does not control the Senate, clown boy! Harry Reid and the Democrats control it, and he has snuffed out every pro-growth jobs/tax bill that the Republicans have passed in the House!

Oh my goodness, you are clueless. I can believe you are even allowed to vote. You have no idea what you are talking about.

I think Trader_Jorge, MojoMan, Basso, BigTexxx and Gwayneco need to realize this isn't rooting for a sports team. The unemployment numbers and economic well being of the US economy is important, not something to gloat about when the growth is stagnant or not as good as we would like.

If you want to rip Obama's policies, or anyone elses policies, that is fine. However I am noticing a litte too much glee that there are so many unemployed or under employed Americans.

To be honest it is unpatriotic and troubling to me. While I have voted for Obama and Clinton, I have also voted for nearly as many Republican candidates at the national and local level. I did not gloat or get satisfaction from the economy blowing up as Bush left office, because it hurts a lot of people.

    Just think about it...

    It's the Republicans stupid...

    Debt, Depression, DeMarco
    By PAUL KRUGMAN
    Published: August 2, 2012

There has been plenty to criticize about President Obama’s handling of the economy. Yet the overriding story of the past few years is not Mr. Obama’s mistakes but the scorched-earth opposition of Republicans, who have done everything they can to get in his way — and who now, having blocked the president’s policies, hope to win the White House by claiming that his policies have failed.

And this week’s shocking refusal to implement debt relief by the acting director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency — a Bush-era holdover the president hasn’t been able to replace — illustrates perfectly what’s going on.

Some background: many economists believe that the overhang of excess household debt, a legacy of the bubble years, is the biggest factor holding back economic recovery. Loosely speaking, excess debt has created a situation in which everyone is trying to spend less than their income. Since this is collectively impossible — my spending is your income, and your spending is my income — the result is a persistently depressed economy.

How should policy respond? One answer is government spending to support the economy while the private sector repairs its balance sheets; now is not the time for austerity, and cuts in government purchases have been a major economic drag. Another answer is aggressive monetary policy, which is why the Federal Reserve’s refusal to act in the face of high unemployment and below-target inflation is a scandal.

Here are two questions that I know you won't answer since they destroy your "argument."

    A. How many of the tax increases described above are in effect today?

    B. What percentage of Americans are estimated to be affected by the tax increases and penalties described above?

For those who want those answers, they are...

    A. Two, the tax on tanning beds (which, by the way, are believed to cause cancer, driving up healthcare costs) and the prohibition on using FSA monies on OTC meds.

    B. 1.5% of Americans will be affected by the individual mandate's penalty clause, according to the CBO.

Now, I don't necessarily like that I can't use my FSA for OTC meds, but I believe it is a small price to pay for making sure that my insurance will cover my children until they are 26. In addition, the 2% reduction in payroll tax MORE than makes up for the minuscule tax savings I would get from buying Tylenol PM with pre-tax rather than post-tax dollars.

You mean the ones that haven't even taken effect? No, I am aware of those taxes and they haven't started yet, therefore, all Obama has done so far is LOWER TAXES!

Good, I hope they do. We need to reduce the deficit and the elimination of the Bush tax cuts will be a good start.

If you believe that anything I have posted today represents a "meltdown," then you are far more delusional than I previously believed. I think you have simply redefined the term "meltdown" to mean "destroyed t_j and texx's lies with reason and factual information.

So you think one anecdote from a company that hired people proves your point that the solar industry is thriving? That's just hilariously stupid! The industry has completely and totally collapsed. Here's a list of 15 recent bankruptcies in the space. Thousands of people have lost their jobs and billions in taxpayer money has been flushed down the toilet.

    http://gigaom.com/cleantech/chart-the-death-spiral-of-solar-bankruptcies-counting/

And this doesn't even include Abound, the most recent high profile solar bankruptcy that blew through a $400mm loan from the Obama Administration.

How can you possibly not know that the solar industry has collapsed? Unbelievable.

I posted one story, but you must have skipped over the fact check list of facts.

Sorry, Gus, your crap just isn't cutting the mustard here.

This thread is a sterling example of why I am very wealthy and the people that argue against me are very poor. They just. don't. get. economics. Or business. Or apparently a newspaper.

For someone to argue that Obama has not increased taxes is just laughable. 'sup andymoon

For someone to argue that the solar industry (!) is doing well is just living on another planet. 'sup Franchise Blade

For someone to argue that 15% unemployment and a month where 195,000 fewer Americans have jobs is 'economic progress' is just a sad tragedy of ignorance. 'sup libs

Cut TJ some slack. He just got back here so it is understandable that he gets the crap beat out of him a few times before he gets into the swing of things.

I have faith, TJ! You'll come back stronger as a result of the domination your opponents have bestowed upon you in this thread. Hang in there, buddy!

Anyone arguing that Obama has increased taxes is simply ignoring reality.

So now your failed argument has shifted to "taxes haven't gone up yet"? Sorry to break the news to you, but that's not how investors think -- they look forward. And second, some of the Obamacare taxes went into effect in 2010.

moon -- you are clearly my inferior.
