The Labor Department figures showed that 195,000 fewer Americans had jobs this month as opposed to last month. Who can possibly be celebrating this news? The broader unemployment rate ticked up to 15.0%

Obama's policies for strangling job growth:
    Higher Taxes
    More Regulation
    More Litigation

    It's time for a change.

This has been explained to you as not being the case. Please educate yourself and stop perpetuating a lie.

    What's that?

23 months of continuous job growth despite gop obsturction? Why yes, I think it is. Imagine how much better we'd be if conservatives actually helped?

The workforce participation rate continues at 30 year lows, the true unemployment rate is well over 10% and the jobs created in July are not even enough to satisfy the natural growth in the size of the labor force.

    Well done, President Obama!

Obama and the Fed, as well as the actions took at the end of the Bush admin saved this country from a Depression. The recovery is always going to be weak, especially since we don't have the ability for stimulus due to the high deficits created under Bush and the hostile Republicans.

People are afraid to invest because of the uncertainty of what will happen in 2013. Will we have another budget fight? It is the inability of Congress to pass legislation that has lost the confidence of the investor community.

People are afraid that the gov't will too quickly focus on the deficit and tank the economy by cutting too much spending. Contrary to Republican talking points, cutting spending does not result in growth but shrinkage.

Republicans would likely increase spending under a Romney admin to help boost the economy and secure him an 8 year term. While with Obama they might agree anyway since he is essentially a lame duck and they may fear a backlash in 2014.

But don't let the right-wing trolls tell you any differently. They are just mentally masturbating on this board.

Are you even aware of the POLICIES that Obama has passed, virtually all of which have lowered, not raised, taxes?

Are you aware of the fact that it has been estimated by the CBO that a grand total of 1.5% of the population will end up with either higher taxes or paying a penalty as a result of the ACA?

Again, your LIE was that Obama's POLICIES had raised taxes. I am aware of the debates, I am fully aware of the rhetoric, and I am completely aware that the reality of the situation doesn't match either the debates or the rhetoric. Apparently, you are listening to the debates and ignoring WHAT OBAMA HAS ACTUALLY DONE!

And I'm getting tired of spanking your "corrections" with factual information, b****.

Just to amuse myself, do you think that Obamacare does not raise taxes? It does. 16,000 IRS agents are needed to keep track of the 20+ taxes that are raised by Obamacare. Are you aware of the increases in income tax rates, capital gains tax rates, estate taxes, and dividend tax rates that are set to occur at the end of this year?

    Educate yourself, please.

195,000 more Americans don't have jobs after last month. That's a sad fact. And it's a problem brought on by the sheer incompetence in Washington -- where Obama's leadership is bringing everyone down.

Yes, time for change - time for Mitt Romney.

Punish the middle class with higher taxes. Bonuses for the rich.
More wars with Iran next on the docket.
    Kill Medicare and Medicaid.
Drive up the deficit - who cares, let the next democrat deal with it in 4 years

THis country will tank worse than the Rockets next year if you put that fool from Utah into office. TJ, not even you believe otherwise.

Ho ho ho. no merry christmas for you!

Which one of Obama's tax hikes, strangling regulation, or lawsuits helped save us from a depression? I eagerly await your answer. The failed stimulus, which is widely accepted to have missed the mark completely (and is more talked about for its cronyism) certainly didn't do the trick.

Or maybe his investments in GREEN ENERGY turned the economy around? HA! That's been perhaps the biggest economic fraud ever advanced -- and to think that people actually believed him when he said that GREEN JOBS would ignite the economy...just sad. A complete and total failure. Bankrupted companies and billions in squandered government subsidies later, we still don't have jobs.

    Our nation deserves better.

    Another lie

By every measure economists have said the stimulus was successful. The only caveat is that it should have been bigger.

Um, yeah, that doesn't refute anything. And Annenburg is in the tank for Obama.

Here is just a SAMPLING of the new taxes under Obamacare:

Here are some of the new taxes you're going to have to pay to pay for Obamacare (of course, this doesn't apply to Obama's political friends who received waivers.

•A 3.8% surtax on "investment income" when your adjusted gross income is more than $200,000 ($250,000 for joint-filers). What is "investment income?" Dividends, interest, rent, capital gains, annuities, house sales, partnerships, etc. Taxes on dividends will rise from 15% to 18.8%--if Congress extends the Bush tax cuts. If Congress does not extend the Bush tax cuts, taxes on dividends will rise from 15% to a shocking 43.8%. (WSJ)

•A 0.9% surtax on Medicare taxes for those making $200,000 or more ($250,000 joint). You already pay Medicare tax of 1.45%, and your employer pays another 1.45% for you (unless you're self-employed, in which case you pay the whole 2.9% yourself). Next year, your Medicare bill will be 2.35%. (WSJ)

•Flexible Spending Account contributions will be capped at $2,500. Currently, there is no tax-related limit on how much you can set aside pre-tax to pay for medical expenses. Next year, there will be. If you have been socking away, say, $10,000 in your FSA to pay medical bills, you'll have to cut that to $2,500. (ATR.org)

•The itemized-deduction hurdle for medical expenses is going up to $10,000. Right now, any medical expenses over $7,500 per year are deductible. Next year, that hurdle will be $10,000. (ATR.org)

•The penalty on non-medical withdrawals from Healthcare Savings Accounts is now 20% instead of 10%. That's twice the penalty that applies to annuities, IRAs, and other tax-free vehicles. (ATR.org)

•A tax of 10% on indoor tanning services. This has been in place for two years, since the summer of 2010. (ATR.org) AKA: White People's Tax

•A 40% tax on "Cadillac Health Care Plans" starting in 2018.Those whose employers pay for all or most of comprehensive healthcare plans (costing $10,200 for an individual or $27,500 for families) will have to pay a 40% tax on the amount their employer pays. The 2018 start date is said to have been a gift to unions, which often have comprehensive plans. (ATR.org)

•A"Medicine Cabinet Tax" that eliminates the ability to pay for over-the-counter medicines from a pre-tax Flexible Spending Account. This started in January 2011 (ATR.org)

•A "penalty" tax for those who don't buy health insurance. This will phase in from 2014-2016. It will range from $695 per person to about $4,700 per person, depending on your income.

•A tax on medical devices costing more than $100. Starting in 2013, medical device manufacturers will have to pay a 2.3% excise tax on medical equipment. This is expected to raise the cost of medical procedures.

It seems that TJ is incapable of having a conversation without fabrications, lies and deceit.

Typical when you have nothing of substance to offer.

Drive up the deficit? Have you seen what Obama has done to the deficit? He has quadrupled it and we are looking at trillion dollar deficits as far as the eye can see.

    Wow.

Obama signed an extension of the Bush tax cuts as well as a reduction in payroll tax rates. These are simply facts that I am relaying. Any claim that Obama has dramatically raised taxes is a lie, pure and simple.
