So we acquire LMA by trading all our PFs/bench? How exactly do you propose we get LMA.

Also Howard>>Asik. That's why (yes he is A LOT cheaper though)

I hate to break it to you people, but even now, Howard is still the best center in the NBA. I love Asik, he's a very good player, but he is still light years away from what Howard will be when healthy. Howard is one of the stars Houston is reportedly after who ClutchFans underrates. Say what you will about Dwight, he's still the best center in the NBA, if not one of the best, and all of you haters would be excited if he came here. You might as well admit it now, because if he does sign here, you will look like idiots.

The coaches and Morey have mentioned Lin struggles with the halfcourt game. It appears he's untouchable because of the chinese money. Plus Dwight will clog the paint more than Asik. So maybe not too perfect for this team.

You don't think Howard could run the PnR with Lin? Tyson Chandler could....

He doesn't seem to be running it very well with Nash who is pretty much the best in the business when it comes to PnR.

Because he's acting like a whiny b**** and demands his post-ups.

He can run the PNR very well when he's healthy and when he wants to, the problem is if he'll ever be that healthy ever again and if he'll ever be happy in a smaller offensive role.

You would probably see a lot of the 2 man game between Howard and Harden on the left block and left arch

    http://courtvisionanalytics.com/wheres-the-beard-its-not-in-the-midrange/

Harden is an exceptionally good 3 point shooter at that spot, teams desire to cut off his left hand opens up the passing lane for a Chandler cut, and let's be honest, if you're going to have the best sg and the best center in the nba on the court together, you would have to be completely insane not to have a solid 2 man game.

one should never worry over how he will look...perhaps Howard is the best center but having all the best players doesn't equate to having the beat team... is that not so?

Howard came back months early from a serious back surgery. He rarely missed games in Orlando. People questioning his work ethic.....smh.
Next year he will look like the old Dwight. If we can buy low it would be unbelievable.
He actual fits personality wise with the team. Light hearted and having fun. Any team with Kobe as the leader is just going to suck happiness wise.

Lakers can pay him $30 million more on his guaranteed contract.
If I was him I'd go to the Rockets. But who knows how this guy thinks.

Dwight was Ok playing PnR back in Orlando with Nelson. He is actually better there than on the low post IMO where he is way too mechanical.
Lin is less effective in half court because his handle under pressure is not perfect say Nash or Stockton like yet, and passing skill in traffic sub standard, compared to open court. This will improve with experience and work.

There is little doubt that a HEALTHY Dwight is the best in the business. Even now while still injured he is probably the best center. The problem most people have with him is not in his ability but with his attitude. He has shown over the last couple of seasons that he is a "Me First" guy and not a "Team First" guy. The reason we have reservations about paying him max money is that if he is not happy he will b**** and whine and become a locker room cancer. This young team has good chemistry. While we definitely need another superstar to become contenders, a prima-dona "Me First" superstar who starts whining because he doesn't think he is getting enough touches in the paint would screw this team up. Dwight is one of the best defensive centers to ever play the game but he is very limited offensively. Also he will not run the pick-n-roll with the best pick-n-roll point guard to ever play the game. We run a lot of pick-n-roll here. That alone could create locker room friction.

Also, the guy is not 100% healthy at the moment. He had back surgery. I have had the exact same back surgery as him twice on two different disc. I can promise you I am not the same man I used to be and I don't make a living running up and down the court and jumping for rebounds and dunks. He may never be 100% of what he was.

To sum it all up, a healthy Dwight who puts the "Team First" is worth every penny of a max contract and then some. A Dwight with questionable health who has shown he is a "Me First" guy could prove detrimental to our young team. Most of us guys against bringing Dwight here do not think he is worth the gamble signing him would be. Peace!!!:)

Lakers have told Dwight they won't trade him before the deadline.

That doesn't mean they won't trade him on the deadline.

And wouldn't it be funny if Dwight told the Lakers he was walking away this summer and the Lakers had to offer up a first round draft pick just to be able to sign and trade him away so they could have a huge TPE for future trade flexibility?

You also don't have the resources being dedicated to making you right, just as I wouldn't expect a random person to recover from ACL surgery and return to maximum performance like Adrian Peterson.

It seems reminiscent of the whole HIV/Magic Johnson thing, managing a health issue is infinitely easier when you essentially have unlimited money to throw at it.

Saw a DJ on twitter talking about his awesome weekend in Houston, specifically thanking Harden and Dwight. I would assume that means the two were together????
