Peyton has played in the worst divisions his whole career. first against the youngest teams (texans and jacksonville) and now last year in the AFC west.

And peyton played against the texans with David Carr and Sage Rosenfels as the QB starter, so its obvious manning still have a great record against the texans.

really the worst division? didnt know the worst division, had 2 playoff teams? while the AFC west (where peyton plays), only had one team with a .500.
lets see: AFC south wins (without texans): 19, AFC west wins (without denver): 13.

Im waiting for Evan Silva tweet saying that the Patriots are a good team with arrow pointing down.

Welker left, Hernandez released, Gronk injured (wont play the first games, and be rusty at least till week 8 or 9) Brandon Lloyd left, defense looks the same (not good), no major FA signings (including draft picks).

they play in a weak division too.

    More 'decline' talk!

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Houston Chronicle says no timeline for Arian Foster to return. Still experiencing soreness 2 months into calf injury: <a href="http://t.co/PAVp3KDGKE">http://t.co/PAVp3KDGKE</a></p>&mdash; Evan Silva (@evansilva) <a href="https://twitter.com/evansilva/statuses/361163634417733632">July 27, 2013</a></blockquote>

According to the Houston Chronicle, there is no timeline for Arian Foster (calf) to come off the active/PUP list.

"I’ve played through a lot of things, this is just something you can’t," Foster said. "...I’m just going to take my time. When I feel 100% confident, I’ll be back." Two months after suffering the injury at OTAs, Foster is still experiencing "soreness." Foster leads the NFL in touches over the past three seasons, and paced the NFL in 2012 rushing attempts. The inability to recover quickly and practice will do nothing to quiet concerns Foster's body may be beginning to break down

The inability to recover quickly and practice will do nothing to quiet MY concerns that Foster's body may be beginning to break down, of course only according to me, Evan Silva.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/evansilva">@evansilva</a> FWIW, tho not practicing, is doing drills on side field. Looks fit. If you didn't know there was an issue, you wouldn't know.</p>&mdash; Stephanie Stradley (@StephStradley) <a href="https://twitter.com/StephStradley/statuses/361166270743314432">July 27, 2013</a></blockquote>

This dude says Arian is breaking down but Bradshaw is gonna put the Colts over the top in the division. Ahman Bradshaw is the definition of breaking down.

Evan Silva is venturing into Chris Palmer territory and has been for a few months. Time to stop feeding the troll.

This time last year you could have said Baltimore was the "Good team with arrow pointing down."

Come to think of it, you are right. Your post is a thread closer. Let's move on to the present. Every team has weaknesses. I am hoping that the Texans get their "shut down" defense back. Actually, I love watching a great defense. My major concerns as always are Schaub and Kubiak, but there are a lot of reasons to be excited about a fresh new season. Anything can happen. Welcome back Brian Cushing; when you went down the defense really suffered.

Defense is so important. It's the only thing. You hear we can't win with out elite but look at the year peyton won the super bowl..

wildcard game 0 tds- 3 ints.
    division game 0tds - 2 ints.
    superbowl 1td-1nt.

Schaub won't get any better at age 32 blah blah...
Steve young didn't get king kong of his back until the 49ers had the best player at every defensive position money could buy. Point being, like you said, A shut down defense can do wonders.

    Baltimore got pretty lucky IMO.

Just shows how open this league is. Way more than the NBA where you have to win a 7-game-series.

Schaub can't compare to those QBs even on their worst day.

The defense has a different approach depending on the QB. As a safety, when you have Harrison and Wayne on the outside with Manning at QB, you think twice about jumping routes. Once you're thinking, you're losing.

In today's NFL, an immobile AND weak armed QB will never win the Super Bowl.

The Texans never had a shut down defense, 2011 included. In 2011, look at the schedule: bad teams and horrible QBs. Connor Barwin feasted. That all changed in 2012 (excluding Cutler injury and Detroit Debacle). Adding Merciless and Reed should make the defense really good. Jonathan Joseph needs to man up. You can't blame injury every time you get beat, that was a theme far too often last year.

As far as Wade Phillips goes, history says teams have a steady decline under him. Hmmm....

When you have a good QB there is also always a chance. He keeps the defense honest with Torrey Smith.
The game vs Broncos was not luck for the Ravens. Broncos needed 2 KO returns to make it a game.

Was it luck when KEVIN WALTER got behind the defense against the Broncos?
