If his potential is a PER of 14.1, and ORTG of 98 and TS% of .514, it's not much of a potential.

Yeah his numbers are seriously inflated by pace and oppotunity. It's when you delve a little deeper into the advanced statistics where you realize this is a classic example of a pump a dump. The team is trying to get his numbers up and sell high with a trade when his value is perceived to be at its highest. Nice try Sam Hinkie.

He is the perfect example of someone you should NOT pay. Suspect defense, can't shoot 3s, and shoots below average for his position. Pass.

Its funny cause his stats are eerily similar to our very own James Harden except he doesn't get calls like Harden does.

    19 PPG, 7 RPG, 4APG, 1 SPG, 3 TOs 44% FG 28% 3 pts

    23 PPG, 5 RPG, 5APG, 1 SPG, 3 TOs 44% FG 30% 3pts (shoots 6 3s a game)

Harden gets 4 more FTs per game than Turner.. and thats the difference in their PPG totals.

Oh and I don't think highly of Turner..

I was just checking the numbers out for both him and Harden..

Really? As if the just arbitrarily gets to the line more than turner.. Harden is great at attacking the basket. Look at some advanced stats comparing the two

    PER-
    Harden: 20.6
    Turner: 14.1

    Offensive Rating-
    Harden: 117
    Turner: 98

    Offensive Win Shares-
    Harden: 2.9
    Turner: 0.6

    True Shooting %-
    Harden: .589
    Turner: .514

Harden also gets a bulk of the defense's attention, and their best defender any given night.

I'm not SURE if Turner does, but my guess is MCW and Thad Young attract most of the defense's attention more so than Turner.

WTF are you even talking about, first of all it's not "4 more fts" Turner takes way more attempts than Harden, if Harden took the same amount of attempts he'd score even higher because his efficiency is higher. There's a reason why Harden's TS% is 60 while Turner's is 51.

Secondly, Harden's 30% shooting is an aberration this year, his career shooting is 35%. Turner on the other hand has always had a crappy 3 pt shot. Even if Harden's shooting is horrible this season, opponents respect his shot and when he stays on the perimeter there's always someone guarding him, so he can stay out of the paint and give everyone else room to operate. On the other hand, everyone in the world knows Turner can't shoot for squat, so the opponents just play zone and dare him to shoot, and the added guys in the lane make it hard for everyone else to score. Ever heard of the phrase "makes his teammates better"? Well Harden does exactly that while Turner makes everyone worse.

Finally, Harden's playing in one of the most competitive conferences in league history, while Turner's playing in one of the worst conferences in league history. Almost every team in the WC is good/decent, while the East only has Miami and Indiana as the good teams. Utah is the most pathetic team in the West, and even with them tanking and playing in such a tough conference they still have 3 more wins than the worst team in the East...hell, the Lakers who are the 3rd worst team would have the same amount of wins as the current 4rth seed in the East! If Harden played on such a weak team his stats would probably be so much better.
