Alternate reality? Seriously dude, you're going to come into a thread that's expressly about the austerity failing, and causing a double-dip recession in the eurozone which is both 1) crushing growth and 2) not balancing budgets and claim that it's not doing that?

    Proof? Seriously?

Let's see the UK is now working on a TRIPLE DIP recession because of austerity which has managed to crush tax receipts, and has the third worst budget deficit in the EU>

The worst two? Austerity poster children Spain and Portugal - who face borrowing costs that are HIGHER THAN ITALY's.

AUSTERITY WORKS! At destroying the **** out of economies and making your budget deficit worse.

This is the kind of thing that makes me wonder if you're just the most elaborate troll acting out some sort of method-acting performance art or are truly well...never mind....

And here we get to the crux of the matter. You conceive of Macro and fiscal and monetary policy as akin to when Space Ghost packs his family into the Ford Explorer and heads down to the local Olive Garden, wondering whether or not he should *splurge* on the Steak Toscano with Bruschetta for the kiddies, or jsut stick with bottomless bread and pasta due to their inherently superior value proposition, and leave the Carbonara for when you are raking it in as assistant to the regional manager at Dunder Mifflin.

simply put - it doesn't work that way, and your analogy is oversimplified and incorrect.

Hahaha yeah! I bet those idiots over there wish their tax payments were going towards bloated defense spending and decade long wars like ours do! All while paying for college tuition out of their own pockets! I bet their taxes pay for their healthcare too. Suckers.
