Who cares?? What I want to know is... what's the July and August temps for Austin? We're burnin' right now, baby!
It makes a difference to me, too, but you could never call Dallas' heat "dry". There are many subtle levels of humidity, not just humid/not humid. To me, coming from someplace that is actually dry, it seems awfully humid in Dallas.
Really depends. Don't think it's so dry in Phoenix during monsoon season. I was a regular to Palm Springs in the summers. Played golf in 110+. Didn't bother me, until a little monsoonal weather blew in there also. Otherwise, wasn't bad at all. I've been in Lubbock at 110 and 10% humidity with a breeze, and it actually was quite comfortable (even though I prefer the cooler seasons). Then again, I would swelter in our house by the Beach in LA when the Santa Ana's would blow wind in from the desert, and our temp would rise 85+. We had no AC.
D of D -- I noticed that when I lived in Waco one summer...I remember watching Seinfeld reruns at 10pm and the Dallas station would put the temperature in the corner of the screen...it would typically be in the mid-90's at 10pm!!! after we were married, my wife and I were watching a rerun I had recorded once...the time and temperature came up in the corner of the screen...in the mid 90's at about 10...it suddenly dawned on my wife that it NEVER EVER cooled down there that summer. you can drive with the windows down at night in Houston in the summer...the air isn't still like it is up there. you just can't do that fomfotably up in that area of the state. Princess - the fact you worked the word fomfotable into this thread improves my image of you exponentially!
That's about the only thing I miss about Amarillo. Once the sun goes down, it usually cools off considerably. There have been days there were it would be 105 during the day and cool enough to need a jacket that same night.
Hate to disappoint you...I love the hot weather . Except when I had to wait for 30 minutes in a non-airconditioned bus on my way from the gate to the plane today... .
