WOW!!! Mark Mayfield, MS Tea Party leader, found dead Breaking news out of Jackson: Mark Mayfield, the leader of the Central Mississippi Tea Party, has been found dead of a gunshot wound in his home in Ridgeland. A suicide note was found on the scene. You remember Mayfield from his involvement in the "Constitutional Clayton" scandal involving supporters of state Sen. Chris McDaniel breaking into a nursing home to photograph U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran's (R-MS) invalid wife.
Or, more accurately, people who constantly associate with neo-confederates and various white supremacist groups get called racists.
McDaniel's statement: "Regardless of recent allegations made against his character, Mark Mayfield was a fine Christian man who was always respectful and kind. He was one of the most polite and humble men I've ever met in politics. He was a loving husband, father, a pillar of his community, and he will be missed. We are saddened by his loss, and we send our thoughts and prayers to his wife, his family and friends."
