This has got to be the worst piece of journalism ever. If I had a blog or was a journalist, I would point out all the errors in this article and post it as a "what's wrong with espn/modern sports journalism" piece. You'd get hits, book it.

    http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wi...17/t_mac_could_return_before_start_of_season/

Tracy McGrady has been working with Tim Grover and physical therapist David Reavy for weeks trying to get himself back into playing shape.

Reavy is so convinced of the progress that he suggested recently that the Rockets superstar could be ready to go by October 1 and back in the lineup when the season starts, a recovery plan that would have him healthy weeks in advance of the average patient. Reavy and company have been working on a plan to even McGrady's body out again.

"His whole body was imbalanced from basically his shoulder blades down to his feet," Reavy says. "He was developing a lot of back problems ... He was developing strength in an imbalanced fashion. And what I see in Tracy, in general, he had no core strength, he couldn't hold a plank."

So Reavy and Grover devised a rehab plan that would help bring it all back -- the work is already paying dividends.

"[Tracy] took a hard fall seven years ago in 2002 and he said he was never able to dunk off his left leg [since]. We got him dunking off his left leg four and a half months post micro-fracture, which is basically unheard of," Reavy says. "The results that we get here are basically unprecedented because we take the force off the injured area, we make the body absorb the force equally, so that it can heal properly and faster without the loading that it's constantly getting before.

"2007: T-Mac's Houston Rockets entered their opening-round playoff series versus the Utah Jazz riding a 21-game winning streak. "If we don't win this series, it's on me," McGrady said."

If I am not mistaken, TMac said "it's on me" when the rockets had two game lead (2:0) in the playoff run vs. Jazz (first time), then S. Smith started to put TMac on a bad position, and TMac started to say... It has nothing with a 21-game winning streak.

its my fault quote was after the 2nd elimination by the jazz, not the first. the "its on me" was 06-07 with yao, and the 22 game win streak was the following year. this lady got the years all mixed up.

She is the worse writer in all of sports journalism. I don't read any of her stories on espn.

She was also off on McGrady being overconfident against The Pistons. That series was shortly after they changed the First Round of The Playoffs to 7-Games instead of a 5-Game series.

McGrady simply made a mistake thinking they won the series 3-1, when in reality it was best 4 out of 7. He told a reporter that it was great to finally get out of the first round because of this. He just screwed up and ESPN and just about everyone else was joking about it, but noone ever that I recall said he was being overconfident or guaranteeing a win.

Sadly, he at least believed for awhile that he was going to the 2nd round until the reporters corrected him :(

This article really pissed me off. I clicked the "contact" link next to her picture and wrote the following feedback:

I just saw that her email address is at the bottom. I'll be sending it there, too.

Tmacs downfall in the playoffs came after making his false prognostications. I mean come on guys the one year he sits it out and we make the playoffs we get out of the first round. Last years playoffs should be a real eye opener for everyone. In mcgradys defense though we did have an improved roster, but we were also missing our 20 million dollar man also.

I never understood why "If we don't get out of the first round, it's on me" is a put up or shut up moment. That's not a guarantee the Rockets would get out of the first round.

You don't remember this? The ESPN guys at that time were having a lot of fun with it.

lol. I assume this joke of a journalist's inbox got flooded with corrections.

I've never seen so many factual errors in one blurb in my life. like, every single stat is just a little bit FAIL.

good work, Clutchfans! this writer has egg all over (her?) face...
