He has made some wonderful passes before, but I wouldn't call him a great passer yet. Like pretty much every part of his game, Yao is inconsistent will his passing ability. Sometimes he forces passes into traffic, and sometimes he is a tick slow on hitting the open man (which makes a lot of difference). But the thing that people rave about is that Yao has definitely shown glimpses that he can be a great passer, because of his vision and creativity. I remember one pass where, he went up with a hook shot, and then at the last moment, he whipped a pass to Steve. And another time, when he caught an offensive rebound with one hand and did a touch pass to someone (I think it might have been Mo) underneath the basket. It takes a lot of coordination and feel for the game to do stuff like that, and that is the reason why some people think that Yao is a great passer now. But he has to do it much more consistently to be great in my book. Although if the team had better spacing, that would help out a lot too.
Funny how people around the country are now starting to realize what we have seen for the last few years. It is broken...fix it. DD
I love the sports guy... he's hilarious... especially when he talks about the Red Sox because he's from Boston. But yeah... I like the part where go goes "it's criminal" hahaha...
The problem is our players don't know how to move without the ball. Everyone is standing still. There is few meaningful passes to make. If guyes move like the kings, then Yao's passing will show effectiveness.
