Right now, here's an almost perfect scenario for the 3 picks if we have and choose to keep them and not trade:

    #13- R.Jefferson (L.Woods if gone)
    #18- P.Gasol (J.Johnson if gone)
    #22- Morris or Haywoode

In the end, I would like the Rockets to take 2 SFs and 1 center no matter what order. If we take Gasol we should definitely take another SF at some point. Even if Jefferson and Gasol both eventually pan out, we could always trade one of them down the road...or include one in a CWebb deal.

I don't think the Rocks will take Gasol at 13. If we get 18 and he's available, waiting till next season has a plus - about an additional $1.0M to persue Webber (or if we already have C-Webb, a cool mil free for the Dream).

I really do think we have a great chance at the number 1 pick, since this is one of them years that there isn't a stand out player. The Wizards said that they don't want a high school player or someone with limited college experience meaning that basically everybody in the top 5. If we give them 5 first rounders, 3 this year, 2 later on owned to us by detriot and chicago, I think we can get the 1st pick. It's worth it. If we draft eddie griffin with it, we know were not gonna be disappointed unlike drafting players from europe which are high risk or players that we don't know much about. I can guarentee you guys right now that griffin will win ROY without a doubt. He will help us greatly in the shot blocking area and at Sf. Plus if he gains some weight he will turn into a kevin garnett type player able to play multiple positions. He will fit perfectly into this young developing team.

ricky812, I agree with you on getting Griffin if at all possible. However, five draft picks may force the Rockets into mortgaging their future because we still need a center of the future -- unless you think Cato is that center. Maybe our #13 this year, the Detroit #1 for next year and a decent player like Williams or Thomas or Anderson (S&T notwithstanding).

I think you are exactly right about what the Rockets were thinking at the time they drafted Jason.

This Mock Draft is kind of wack too.
They have Golden State taking a big man . .
Unless I'm mistaken they have a GLUT there
    Too many big men already

Alvin Jones with the 18th pick is a very BAD choice for the Rockets. In fact, I'd say that Jones with any of the first round picks is bad for the Rockets. Jones is Kelvin Cato, part 2. He once played an entire game without getting a rebound. I know the ACC is a tough conference, but that's ridiculous. I've seen him play 5 games this past year and I wasn't impressed. He's got a bad attitude, doesn't play hard, and pouts on the court. That's the worst combo I can think of.
