You know, you keep harping on this team's "bad coaching". I beg to differ. I think Stephen Silas is a great coach whose detractors will soon be eating crow and asking for seconds.

    It’s all relative to expectations.

Eason wasn’t taken second in the draft, he was taken later in the draft and had some questions about his game that Green didn’t have.

I am not saying Eason is a better player, I am saying his improvement and performance relative to expectations is better.

Eason is already close to being a rotational player and that’s really strong.

I don’t think he is batting close to 1.000 but I think his draft overall has been fine. When he took Green there were only really three viable options (Green, Mobley, Barnes). Stone took the guy with the highest upside. Is Green better than Mobley or Barnes? At least it is debatable he is.

When Stone took Jabari, he took the player everyone would have taken. He will be a good player and starter at a minimum.

Eli and the analytics department were who really wanted Sengun, but credit to Stone for making it happen.

There are some bad moves, like Christopher over other better players. Garuba also may be a reach.

Having said all that, I think his drafting has been fine - the only real criticism I have is he hasn’t gotten a franchise player thus far and he hasn’t really considered how his picks will play together.

The reality is that the 2023 draft is going to go a long way to deciding his future. If he gets someone like Wemby or Henderson or Miller - then he will start getting a lot of praise… if he falls to pick 5-6, he will have to have some luck that a player like Nick Smith or Cam Whitmore explodes.

The real issue I have with Stone is his lack of culture and the fact there is zero accountability in the organization.

Best way to address it is to get rid of KPJ and Silas and his guys.

Yes, Silas needs to be replaced with a structured, good head coach…. Stone needs to stop trying to be friends with the players and KPJ needs to be released or dealt.

Kpj is averaging a million dollars per game since we only see him 15 times a year.
