It's BS that that the s--tstorms are much greater when the religion of Islam is bashed compared with other religions. It should be equal.
I'm surprised the catholics aren't raising hell over this, haha....I'm not a christian or anything, but Jesus shouldn't be incorporated with football.........just basketball............
Good point. I get how someone would find "F*** Jesus" to be pretty offensive. But isn't "Touchdown Jesus", like, massively degrading? Jesus as football decoration? That Kathy Griffin thing at the end made me laugh.
Why? You can buy these online ya know. http://www.catholicshopper.com/products/inspirational_sport_statues.html
It's not a football decoration. It just looks like one from the placement. Here it is alone: http://www.settimanasportiva.it/data/news/Touchdown Jesus.jpg And from the footbal field view. http://www.tomroeser.com/blog/img/f20711/touchdown jesus.jpg Anyways, I think Donahue is most upset with someone who represents a corporation saying F Jesus, that corporation not giving him an answer he was satisfied with and then him blowing it out of proportion (it was a Roast, but still tactless and vulgar). His point is valid though, in my opinion, that it's easy to hate on Christianity and not feel the same vitriol or heat that say Don Imus got for using something equally offensive or crass in a "joking" manner. I doubt he thinks she should be fired, or that if she really didn't like Jesus or Christians she should force out an apology other than for the vulgarity of her statements. It seems more like his beef is with ESPN sitting back and saying that kind of thing is ok.
I'm shocked. Not only because the language is so out there, but because I pretty much assumed most female sportcasters had no personality.
Dana Jacobson's the chic from "cold pizza" which is another name now that I can't think of right? that's amazing, she's so tame, never would figure her for getting drunk and speaking publicly. she's a michigan grad btw. funny
I love the crown of thorns. I guess the scissor kick, Adidas gear and bathrobe made Lord and Saviour look a little to casual and relaxed.
Exactly -- that's the whole point. Then today, I was listening to McClain and Lord earlier and they were trying so hard to gloss over the issue as if it were nothing ... and then summarily ignored the hordes of emails, texts and calls they got as a result. Quoth McClain, "she just didn't say it right." Exactly how do you say "f__ Jesus" the right way? If this had been anything else - Mohammed, Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, some Jewish figure ... everybody would be calling for the woman's head on a platter. On ESPN yesterday, Bayless and the other dude were talking about that golf channel anchor's comments about Tiger Woods and they sounded really disappointed that he wasn't making a big fuss about it. Frankly I've never quite understood why people get so offended over everything, but it's even more baffling when you see double standards like this one.
You guys are right, the religious right never ever make a fuss about anything like a boob sighting at the super bowl or never have their voices heard. I expect this to go right under the rug.
put it this way, which statement is more likely to cause a fight? "yo man, your house is ugly!" or "damn man, your mom is ugly"
Why is it okay to say tasteless, offensive and hurtful ***** at a roast? I think she should be punished. I'm sorry but saying '***** Jesus' is just unacceptable to me I'd fire her. Rocket River
